Really wasn't expecting it to be as good as it sounds like it was.

The miserable scousers were good mind.

But that's definitely my version of russy's 'but doves were brilliant in the John Peel tent.'

Are you another disciple of Nal's "setlist avoiding" faith?

:)

How quickly things turn around, could potentially be looking at Foos, Blur and Taylor Swift as headliners. Good card that, in terms of wider recognition. Massive viewing figures for the beeb, lots of newspaper coverage, everyone you talk to will have heard of any two out of three of them.

Blur 2009 is head and shoulders above any other gig for me. The whole experience was the perfect storm for me. The Grand Finalé for my first Glastonbury at the ripe old age of 39. Ended up going solo for various reasons. Ended up dead centre about 5 rows of people back and was moved to my very core. The pure raw energy of song 2 and 90k people momentarily pogoing the earth off its axis. Phil Daniels leading us all in his cockney geezer dingaling Parklife. The raw emotion when Damon breaking down to tears after To The End at the realisation of what was happening before him to the immense crowd reaction to Tender, not particularly a big tune before that night but after many chorus encores its drifting accross the farm long into the night with pockets of people bursting into song. The lovely couple i spoje to dressed up as the Coffee and TV milk cartons.

A truly had to be there moment and i feel sorry for those who missed out on it. As much as a return would never live up to that night wild horses wouldn't keep me away.
