If you mean Afraid of Heights the it's shite by their standards and Billy Talent III was fair poor. Not a scratch on 1 and 2. They wey went too cheesy and it didn't work.

See im another Billy Talent fan of a different opinion, for me III was their best work, followed by II then I, I absolutely HATED the last album apart from the lead single. The new track I've only listened to once and I thought it was poor on first listen.

Everyone has their own opinions though eh?

Ah yes III was okay I guess in parts but Dead Silence was rubbish.

They do, I agree.

Dead Silence has it's fair duds, but there's stuff I love on there. Stand Up and Run will always be a favourite song of mines from them.

On another note, I've only just listened to Skinny Lister. They suddenly have become a priority.

A down vote just for suggesting a band might play? What a cruel world we live in! I also think Lonely the Brave may be added. New album last week, finishing off a UK tour at the moment, Andy seems to love them and they're playing a small East Midlands festival on the Sunday of Download.

Difference is last year sales were lower, so saying there's some secret acts leads to interest.

This year, sales are way up, have you not noticed that they haven't really given a shit promoting for months, because sales were already that high. there's no need for cheap promotion and teasing and hinting at something that won't come to pass this year. The only thing has been the Motorhead slot and even then, months in advance they've said no replacement and its a 20 min video. Other years they would have said undecided right up until the event and then said no replacement OR there would have been a replacement.

If there's going to be a secret act its cus they've reached out to Download and asked to do it, otherwise why bother.

Sales are that strong this year.

Here's an up vote for you as they apparently aren't completely meaningless to you :)

    • Plenty of good stuff this month. Very difficult choice, but I'm going with some of those I've listened to most (the sunny weather may also have been influential)...   1. The Coral - 388 2. Kurt Vile - Philadelphia's Been Good to Me 3. The Lemon Twigs - Look For Your Mind!   Others I've been enjoying... Laurie Anderson's live album, Broken Social Scene, Pigeon, The Black Keys, etc
    • Yesterday was was Primavera is all about and a reminder of why I come back every year. I saw 9 acts, very diverse in terms of genre and vibe, and most of them were great.  Highlights:   The Cure - have wanted to see them for years. Finally caught them and it was immaculate. Robert Smith's vocals at his age are incredible. The band sounded exactly like the albums which is impressive. 2.5 hours with basically no filler somehow.  Viagra Boys - what a front man! So much energy. Non stop moshing. Sound was great, vibe was top notch. Again 10/10 for me.  Rilo Kiley - basically what pipan said. Not a huge crowd but nice vibe, good sound. Different from the other acts I saw.   I also enjoyed the late night electronic stuff with Aurora Halal and KI/KI being fun. Caught some of Skrillex before Aurora Halal and it was cool in it's own way but not really my thing so we left.
