UK Outlook for Tuesday 23 Jun 2015 to Thursday 2 Jul 2015:

A drier, brighter interlude for most on Tuesday and Wednesday with somewhat warmer conditions expected, although there is still a risk of slow moving showers, mainly in the south. From Thursday onwards, northern and western parts will tend to be cooler and windier with showers or longer spells of rain at times, whereas southern and most eastern areas are more likely to hold onto warmer, drier weather at times, but even across the southeast intervals of occasional rain and stronger winds seem likely at times. There is a possibility that a more generally settled picture to develop across the whole UK towards the start of July, but confidence in any detail is low at this stage.

Pattern btw forecasters now starting to emerge???

They are explained fairly regularly and there are text forecasts posted often.

Yeah and there's also this website called Google that you can use for researching stuff you don't understand, it's pretty new so you may not have heard of it but its a bit like Altavista.

Does low pressure ALWAYS equal rain?

Not exactly. At the risk of making things more complicated it's the rise and fall that really does it, so you can already be in fairly low pressure and it can get lower etc. It can also bumble along like that and not be wet.

Still what you really want is consistent high pressure, there's no two ways around it. But middling and no low systems coming through is just dandy too - which is what it looked like were were getting(ish) until that last run

It's still a week away, I'm no meteorologist but I presume there's a lot of room for error in these models at this point. Is that correct?

Yeah this time last year it was predicting 5 days of sunshine and we ended up with a fair bit of rain

Jackone' swords not mine...

"I am working though the blog now, and it should be up a bit late tonight. past 9pm, although given some of the models today, it is a bit X rated."

Is that in a "my god it's sexy" porn type way or a "don't even think about looking - you really don't want to" way I wonder. Probably the latter

Absolutely gutted really. I know some of these posts and links are tongue in cheek and a laugh. Unfortunately tho, it really looks like it's going to change and it's saddened me tonight.

I'm sat, up the ridgeway trail, in.me camper, drinking a gin, watching the sun fade and it couldn't be better really.

To.think this time next week, quite possibly it could be shit, when it really matters. Is very upsetting

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
