M.E. was just on local TV news saying he could feel it in his bones- it's not going to rain!

he said that last year - something about leaves on a tree or cows dancing or something

He also said he might be wrong :)

Tor View looked good didn't it.

As much as I'd love a scorcher I'm resigned to the fact that it will always rain, it's just how you deal with it that matters! Dancing under the spider to Craig Charles in biblical rain last year was something I'll not forget!!!

It's rained to some degree every year out of the 10 Glastonbury's I've attended for full weekend. The only time it didn't rain was 2010 when we only came on Sunday.

For a sizeable fee I will stay away this year

The guy who i respect most in the weather world, Just has us down for changeable, not to hot, few thundery showers about. Just a mixed bag but nothing to dramatic and as he said you could well have a couple or three days of nice sunshine with a more over cast day and the odd shower.

Reading back it sounds like he has hedged his bets.

Points West

Ta. I'll have a look what channel number it is. I'll have to be careful looking round the 900s though, the weather forecasts on Hot Granny Action aren't the best.

This year will be my 8th Glastonbury. I have had one properly dry festival in that time - 2010

2007 was horrendous and I would take anything but a repeat of that

Last years weather would do again

I don't mind the odd thunderstorm. Prolonged rain is worse

When are we getting the official forecast we get every year on here from that guy??

He has already started. Come back sunday for another one.

The outlook is... Changeable. One minute is "dry" next forecast is "washout"

I kind of just lobbed it in. I do intend to replace it with something better.

It's the logarithmic trend line on Excel. I chose that one because the other options end up going down below zero or up to infinity, and the moving average on Excel just looks completely stupid.

I'll try to come up with some kind of weighted average for the next one.

As each new day brings a replacement set of data, looking at historic data is purely out of curiosity it's not actually of value. Hence it's a bit erroneous to include a trendline on this type of dataset.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
