Errm .... So ... I'm not the superstitious type, but has anyone mentioned what happened last time the Who and the Chemical Brothers headlined on the Sunday night.

Nooooooo I was there and I've been trying not to think about it!!!

'If we put that its going to be muddy, then everyone will click the article!'

To be fair, I see any bad weather next week as a good thing, get it out of the way! (That doesn't have much scientific value, but after the bad weather literally hit the festival last year and was great either side of it, I'm using that as my evidence)

2013 had the perfect weather, couldn't have been any better. The Thursday rain prompted the campsite to take to their tents, we were sat in the porch bit of ours, after a nap, having a few drinks and watching the rain come down, one of the three lads who were camped nearest to us got kicked out for farting in the small confined space, he sheepishly asked if he could come under our porch, we got to know him and had a laugh. Then his mates unzipped their front door to join in, the tent in between the two of ours unzipped to join in after a while, eventually there was a circle of four tents, we build up a rapport that lasted for the whole festival, all of us were about the same age and got on really well, went to watch loads of bands as a big group, spent about an hour and half drinking together at the end of every night. The last night was quite emotional when we all left.

2014 thunderstorm facilitated the dancing and singing in the rain with a crowd of strangers. It's the spirit of the trenches, the only thing that, in my experience, brings you together with other people more is Los Campesinos! t-shirts (liking Los Camp! is the litmus test, we're all the best people you can ever hope to meet).

Ok having been to 2005 and 2007 let me tell you. 2013 was not MY perfect weather but then I should have been born smack bang on the equator and not this god forsaken cold miserable island. However if offered 2013 in advance of any Glastonbury for the next 100 years I would take that shit and run !

Yeah ok Thurs was a bit shit and walking around Thurs night was grief, but if you were prepared ie had wellies it wasn't so bad. I was back in trainers on Sat morning and never looked back.

Of course 2010 was THE PERFFCT Glastonbury for me :)

To summarise, 2010 beats 2013 hands down but seriously 2013 was good !

I desperately hope to never repeat the 2007 experience in terms of weather. The organisers seem to be inviting the wrath of the weather gods by booking the exact same closing acts for the Pyramid and Other...

2.7mm of rain isn't much I don't think and if it's been dry during the run up the site should be able to handle it well. I think they are just jumping on the metro bandwagon and using metcheck (the most unreliable weather forecasters) for their information.

What do you mean uh oh?! 4 days of dry weather, not too hot. 1 day with a bit of rain.

That is a decent forecast*

*which has very little chance of being accurate

Start taking them more seriously in a fortnight

    • Another note, if I didn't mention the food in the arena for main stage is right at the back. Bands wise they do very well for but as a festival so far they pros are outweighed quite heavily currently for me.
    • On another note for RIP as an event, there is some good things but there are so many things people going to UK festivals would hate and how far behind they are.  Consistent network and water, beer and pretzel like food is brought around to buy in the crowds. Topping up on the wristband is good. The camping and food arrangement is not good, you really need cooking kit. Water points inside the arena are bonkers, water points in camping are a faff unless you are close enough in general camp. Merch stands are crazy. You MASSIVELY need to think about your lidl shop for camping and try and do it so you've one stop. It's definitely worth it getting to a camping shop here, picking up a rolley between your mates and stacking it for the walk back....lidl is cheap though, not hard getting in but Thursday queues getting in and into the camping is mad. You have to register first for a wristband as well leaving any bigger bags behind so pull to a side if only two and do it separately. I was joining a WhatsApp group for solo camp so went with the flow but I've learnt. Had it been me or just two my tent would have been down much quicker.  Big final note, I got a fresh and black 3 man from decathlon before coming and put in bigger suitcase with my airbed and sleeping bag...do this. Take a smaller option for your clothes. If you go to Munich first, book your train to Nuremberg as far in advance as you can....very important!....it hikes crazy. Probably bettee overall for baggage sizes to do BA both ways but you do then need to go back to Munich after too. Use the B&B hotel hbf the night before....its very nice, comfortable, cheap and within 10 minutes of the station which also serves as a transport stop 15 minutes from the registration.  Get up literally like 5am with everything back the night before, shower and go. Transport is free anyway for festival ticket holders during the duration.  Would I just choose to travel in each day and back to a hotel?, on the basis of sleep and getting accommodation cheap enough for 3 nights i might just do especially if I picked the ticket up early enough. It doesn't feel like a festival in a normal sense....unless you are in general yoi have to exit on the paths outside the camping to walk down and in which also applies for getting water so have a stock up. Toilets are in the camping.
