Here's a thought.. Could Emily have been inspired by the efestivals story earlier this year and subsequent conversation with Neil?

"Hmm, Neil is right, there does seem to be a demand to bring Coldplay back"..

Far better than having Kanye last year. Get a grip guys!

Not really. As much as i didnt enjoy Kanye, at least it was a different booking. Coldplay are as bland as it gets. That was proved not just after the first time they headlined but the second and third.

Chris Martin is one of only two people still sporting that 90s look of long-sleeved tshirt under a short-sleeved tshirt.  The other person being Sheldon Cooper, who isn't actually real.

Billy Corgan too but he's not real either.

Heard the new Coldplay song on TFI and didn't think it was so bad. It sounds like it could be a Peace song, and if it was I would be all over that shit.

The only good thing about the Coldplay rumour last year was that it was mooted as their last gig before splitting up.

And the middle-managers on the Coldplay Fan Site Forums wet their already wet beds.

I almost wanted this / Coldplay to happen so that, a. they would be no more and, b. huge numbers of Coldplay acolytes wouldn't get to see 'their' band's farewell gig.

I know this is mean, but who 'picks' Coldplay as their favourite ever band?

I don't understand how anyone could muster up the enthusiasm to set up a Coldplay Forum so I thought I'd have a quick look

It was never mooted that it was their last gig/that they were splitting up. A quote from Chris Martin got misinterpreted and blown way out of proportion.

'Mooted', 'misinterpreted', 'Coldplay', 'Imagine Dragons'...it's all the same, William.

^Yeah, but ID and a few other bands (Like Bastille) are going to be the Coldplay of the new generation. They will (hopefully) control the pop rock world and keep it from slipping away.

Good God.

Hoping Russy clicks that link.

Imagine Dragons are in that mainstream pop current that typifies also Bastille, Kodaline, Amber Run and other similar bands. CP influence on this kind of groups is quite obvious, they try to emulate their melodic formula and pack it in an electro-mainstream-rock texture, in order to have a catchier and "younger" sound.
