A bit late in the day but I collated a bunch of soundcloud mixes from those on the line-up. If you're not sure what's what have a flick through to see if anything takes your fancy. Far from comprehensive but better than nowt!

I think it reasonable to say that I am pretty laissez-faire about the dance scene etc, but I bloody hate it when people put conditions on raving.

No dress code, no hassle, ideally no cameras and no-one f**king telling me that I have to have my face painted to come in! Like fancy dress - awful!

(With a free pass to NYCD's moustache rule as they'll sell them and the money is for HIV charities etc. Oh, and tattoos to get into the Snakepit because...erm...I like good ink!)

All feels very forced to me. "You have to be whacky to enter"

I have reset the e&d thread whatsapp link due to crypto bots etc joining. If you still need it PM me and I will send it to you.

I might take a while to reply as i’m about to embark on a two day bender, but will 100% add you before the fest so don’t worry 🙂

I know this is a very difficult question to answer but as a graduate of the London free party scene I’m very keen to see the Liberators/Stay up Forever at the Temple.  I’ve only ever been to the Temple whilst rather dazed and confused and can’t recall queue times or if it filled completely for this type of music.
Anyone think it will be rammed or will I be able to stroll in 5 mins before it starts?

I’m struck by the same quandary.

I think i’ll chance it and go see Fever Ray on the Park as my headliner, but if i’m not enjoying them i’ll sack it off and head to the Temple early

You'll be fine doing Fever Ray to Temple. Just remember to leave around the back of Pennards rather than follow the crowds down the hill.

See you there.... x

This is me, tho I expect to see FR until pretty much the end, unless I get disproportionate Temple-entry fear!

So, team...

We know we all love to dance.

But I'm really intrigued by what non-dance stuff the E/D faithful are most looking forward to.

Which bands/artists are top of your must-see lists?

I'll kick off...list as many or few as you like, but who are you really excited for?

DEADLETTER
Panic Shack
The Comet Is Coming
The Murder Capital
Working Men's Club
Weyes Blood
Slowdive
Phoenix

Whatcha got?

    • My party again had an outstanding 4 days in Barca. We made the right call to leave the festival site early at about 10.30 on Thursday to get ourselves some excellent steaks in the city. I am with everyone that the organization should have been clearer about what is going on and also if you would like to get rid of some attendees open more exits, they sent us from gate to gate until we finally were able to get out. Biggest 'disappointment' was the beer price, a YoY increase from 5 to 6 is absolutely nuts!!!   Top 10:   1. Men I Trust 2. Role Model (could have been first as well, what a great artist and great songs) 3. The cure (the last 90 minutes) 4. Gorillaz 5. MBV 6. Ninajirachi (another big miss of the organization, clearly on the wrong podium and wonder if Olivia's surprise set had something to do with that and they had to reschuffle late the Occident, Cupra and Port schedules) 7. NewDad 8. Big Thief 9. Annastashia  10. Kneecap   We did 3 years Barca now and for next year looking at the Porto of Bilbao festivals as an option.
    • Personally if it was me now, I would be grabbing a green camping ticket with the knowledge closer when I've refreshed that I can still choose general if I want to....you can't do the opposite!    I would say if you are happy to watch your headliners and big bands further back to be able to see who you actually plan to later then yes it is fine. Its a much difference experience to any other festival especially food wise and camping surrounds.    Once you're in the arena as well you're not going back unless you've got a gap. If I go again I'll be going with the option of not trying to push the front and enjoying further back as you actually put too much pressure on it than the time take away can forget to enjoy other acts.
    • No complaints about the sound. We were like 2nd set of steps facing stage right in like the middle row.
    • On the whole then, yay or nay...I've had a look on festivals united and there's people who seem converted by Rock Im Park, I can imagine it might be different if it was a washout as RaR is tarmac.   The hotel side would be more to convince the non campers if it's an option. On my first visit to rock am ring we were shuttled into the area where you could stick the car next to the tent which was fantastic as it meant zero lugging of camping gear.
