Pyramid Acts 2015

So it's common that artists who played either last year / year before to a successful reception will be bumped up to pyramid.

It's also usually the artists who have had a very successful year since their last slot.

In terms of mainstream acts, I can see George Ezra and Sam Smith pushed to Pyramid.

Maybe Alt-J too could get a pyramid slot in 2015.

Also, there's likely to be the occasional (different) act like the English National Ballet this year, any suggestions what could be similar?

Diana Ross for the legends slot? I reckon Lorde will get a big 'female' slot if she's touring next year, 4th down maybe?

Listening to 6Music earlier and they had Johnny Marr in for a Maida Vale session. I immediately envisioned him being on the Pyramid next year.

Mind you, I was also adamant that the 2014 lineup wouldn't be out for weeks, only for it to appear an hour later. So I'm no prophet.

Lorde would be great. Could also see La Roux there. Emile Sande maybe. Kylie as a sub? FKA Twigs will probably get an early slot on the Pyramid or a mid-level place on the Other.

Going to be difficult to narrow all of them down to one for the much-coveted female slot.

Is there any example of a West Holts act moving across to Pyramid? Struggling to think of one. Personally can't see Alt-J on the Pyramid. What day/time would be good for them?

I'd actually like Metronomy to have a crack at Pyramid but much like Alt-J I'm not sure when I'd like to see them on - early in the day and it's a bit 'meh, if I'm wandering through as things to do' time slot (12-4) so I think it would need to be early evening / getting dark but by then we're into the big guns / sing-along crowd pleasers

Yeah - Rodrigo y Gabriela. About half the acts on the Pyramid this year wouldn't have been out of place on West Holts actually.

I think Metronomy played Pyramid the last time before they played this year. Should be somewhere on Other next if they return soon.

Alt-J might be kind of weird on the Pyramid but I reckon it's the next stop for them with them doing Other last time and being too big for Park or John Peel now. They'd be third I guess or a sub if other festivals place them as such but yeah it'd be evening.

Rolf Harris (shudders to say his name now) played on what was then Jazz world stage then a year later was opening the Pyramid.

How about The Subways?

Nah, opened the other to a tiny crowd this year, wouldn't make much sense to have them on the Pyramid in a similar slot.

If the album is out, a higher up slot on the Park or John Peel would be ideal for them.

Sam Smith is about the only who would move from Other this year, maybe Ellie Goulding if she is still touring/re releases her last album as a "deluxe edition". I'd guess maybe Royal Blood or Jungle could get given earlyish slots on the Pyramid from the John Peel but more likely for Other.

There has been a friday hip hop act for a few years (I was unsuccessful on tday for 2013 but checked that years line up I use the word hip hop with professor green VERY loosely)

If it is going to be a regular thing - who is a viable this year?

I think we'll see Royal Blood on the Pyramid stage this year, there is usually a current popular band, The 1975 last year, and Royal Blood fits that category. Also think the Kaiser Chiefs will get a Pyramid slot.

Frank Turner would be great but can't see it, although anywhere at the festival will be good for me.

I saw Metronomy in 2011 on the Pyramid and wasn't that keen but then saw them at William's Green on Thursday night this year and were much better.

    • Fantastic news.  Not got our settlement car park pass yet, but this gives me hope that it will arrive soon
    • I think they mentioned it in one and interview that the concept of Passport is one thing that differentiates the Sziget from other festival and encourages to explore the site outside music stuff. I doubt they will get rid of it, they might just be late, like they are with everything else.
