I've got a further 4000 words of an essay to do for tomorrow morning, this could be a challenge

Good luck!

I was meant to go in to uni to meet my personal tutor and do some hardcore studying, but yeah nah...

Never mind you students, I have a job - an actual job where I am paid to do a particular type of work that does not involve reading forums about festivals. I am going to be sacked, my career will be ruined, and the quality of the rest of my life will be significantly reduced.

I BLAME EVERY ONE OF YOU.

Recap on the 3rd headliner mystery ...

Nothing new in here but at least it has got me 5 minutes nearer to the announcement !

From everything we have been told and that Neil has gleaned, it appears that it has to be someone that fulfills all or most of the following criteria :-

1. An act who is currently free to play on Sunday 28 June

2. An act who is playing in (or near to) the UK around that date.

3. An act who has shows around the time, either before or after, that have not Sold Out yet, or where they have signed an "exclusivity" clause.

4. Probably a British (or Irish) act (3 non-UK headliners would be a departure for Glastonbury)

5. It is not necessarily someone who the Eavii have been after for some time

6. It appears to be a recently approached replacement booking

It cannot be :-

Muse

The Who

AC/DC

It could be :-

Blur

Fleetwood Mac

Florence & The Machine

Yeah I think point number 1 is pretty key here!

I was employed last year and due to shift work and life in general I didn't even realise that mini-poster came out until about a week later. I don't know if that was better or worse.

highlights of the festival, aside from playing real life 'metal gear solid' all wednesday night, were '!!!', 'fat freddies drop', 'mr scruff' and 'square pusher' who was so good i actually followed through (although that could be attributed to the dodgy diet and copious amounts of pear cider i'd consumed) and missed a good part of his set sorting it out.

I have to say I agree with him that !!! were the highlight in 2007.

I'd never heard them before that Friday afternoon in one of the big dance tents but they were brilliant.

Saw them again somewhere else over the weekend as well.

Fat Freddy's Drop are excellent live

I'd absolutely love for !!! to play, I've loved them for years but never had the chance to see them live

Yes! Same here.

Apparently brilliant live but have never really toured outside of North America or the European Festival circuit.

    • Another one from Sheffield DocFest this weekend, Earth Wind & Fire docu, directed by Questlove. Sensational archive footage, contributions from band members, family, plus a lot of very big fans (Stevie, Lionel, Flea, the Obamas) and a warts n all assessment of the genius / flawed human being that was Maurice White. Also, I never realised he started out as a jazz drummer with Ramsay Lewis. Well worth a watch.
    • In a 6,800-word Substack essay, external, the Clacton MP said "anti-white racism was embedded into the state", and that legislation aimed at equality was a form of "social cleansing"   .https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cdjkd4mp93zo   The privileged white c**t hasn’t got a clue what racism is.
    • BBC iPlayer: Will serve as the main hub for past sets, including both recent hits and iconic archival gems. You can explore the BBC iPlayer to watch curated compilations, "Best of Glastonbury" recaps, and on-demand replays of historic headline performances. [1, 2, 3] TV Broadcasts (BBC Two & BBC Three): The channels will air dedicated compilation shows. Leading up to the weekend, you can watch archive programming such as Glastonbury: 70s Legends, 80s Legends, and 90s Legends on BBC Two. [1] Radio & BBC Sounds: Pop-up Glastonbury radio stations on BBC Sounds will feature non-stop coverage, including exclusive mixes and huge sets from past years
    • Got HBO Max to watch football so watched One Battle After Another which is a great film and deserves its awards and then rewatched Magnolia and that is a flipping amazing film...so much in it. (also rewatching Angels In America series which is also amazing).
