all this because of somebody taking the piss about the lineup being released with the 1000th page :D

It is incredible though that it's got to 1000 pages and we have not a clue who the final headliner is going to be. Not even a little bit of an idea. I can't decide if I love it or really bloody hate it

I think one of us has guessed already

almost 100% certainty that they've been brought up at least fifty times already in this thread. just not used to it being this late on and there still being a few possible candidates for it (even if some are more outlandish than others)

While we're passing the time for Glastonbury 2014 to start, maybe I thought it'd be a good time to start up a thread discussing who'd headline next year.

I saw that last year Arcade Fire were a strong prediction to headline very early on. And it turned out happening

Wonder whether there are any bands we predict are almost definitely set to headline next year's festival.

I'm gonna go and make a prediction myself which could well be completely and utterly wrong

Foo Fighters, Radiohead, Florence + the Machine

Let's hear everyone else's!

Change Radiohead or Foo Fighters for Fleetwood Mac and you've got my bet. Foos will probably do Glasto in 2016 on the end of their tour of the new album.

Florence & the Machine, Fleetwood Mac, Kanye West

Fleetwood Mac, Radiohead, Kanye West

Fleetwood Mac is the only one i'd put any money on. the other two are just wishful thinking

Fleetwood Mac, Foo Fighters, Florence + The Machine

the three F's next year.

If Not Foos, Radiohead. Got a gut feeling that the foos want to do glasto with the next album.

If the 1st page is anything to go by its Fleetwood, Flo or Radiohead

Simples...

I hate to say it but I think today is unlikely being that they posted info about volunteering an hour or two ago. When they release the lineup if I remember correctly they turn the whole website into just the lineup page for a day or so. Why post other news just to have it not accessible on the website/overshadowed by the lineup announcement.

Love how the first page is more rational and constructive, a full year before the festival and many months before the line-up release and, now, with hours days or at the very most weeks until the line-up we have descended into complete madness.

and I'm contributing with various AD gifs that capture how i feel:

thank christ nobody was taking bets otherwise i would've squandered a LOT of money on Fleetwood Mac (or maybe they were and the odds were just shite)

only reason nobody was predicting Prince was because Eavis downright denied that one of the headliners he had lined up was him. son of a...

I got that and for a brief second I was very, very excited.

Now the ###### account is at it! It's like one big joke that efestivals users are excluded from!

edit: should have realised that the name of that rival forum would be a banned word on here, oops

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
