Big fan of the idea that Foos, Kanye and Prince is a weak set of headliners - trolololol

On Radiohead, I can't see them playing myself, they strike me as a band that for a big show like that would really want to have everything aesthetically right, would they have enough time to do all of that as well? If they're doing some recording sessions for the new album between now and then they could probably squeeze some rehearsal time in but a full headline show? Probably not.

Foo's, Kanye and Prince. I might just be getting my refund ready at this rate. I think it's fairly weak for glastonbury's standards but I just hope they do what every other UK festival have done. Relatively weak headliners but the rest of the bill is amazing.

I've just spluttered a cup of coffee all over my desk, weak?? That's probably one of the strongest festival headliners I've seen in as long as I can remember

Il absolutely have 2 of whatever you have been taking because it must be mega

My guess is that it's either Prince or someone completely out of the blue that hasn't been mentioned yet.

That. or it's Hobo Jones.

Ah good old Hobo and his junkyard dogs..never a more deserved headliner I reckon.

Who's tomorrows rumour going to be? God I wish the line up would hurry up and be announced so we can be put out of our misery

It's opinion at the end of the day. For me it doesn't do much for me, for some of you guys it might be the best thing ever. I know it's not a weak lineup, you've got some pretty massive names that would make a strong lineup as there is every year but for me this isn't one of them

TBF Prince would be the only reason that would not be considered a weak lineup for a very many folk.

Lets not forget that so far there is a significant amount of people who are extremely underwhelmed with the announced headliners..............

it hinges on the final headliner really, as for many there's still a lack of a 'huge' name that we've had in previous years. with Prince as that huge act - very strong trio. huge name, big commercial rock act, big hip hop act. without Prince and with, let's say, Florence - Foos are the huge name, big hip-hop act, step up headliner. you can see how the final headliner changes the outlook on the trio as a whole

I'm now wondering if that when I was told Flo was subbing Foos, it was a cover for the fact they couldn't say they were subbing Prince. This leads me to great concern that he pulls out/doesn't sign up and we're left with her headlining.

maybe she's headlining all along and this is a big ruse to deflect attention?

Genuine question - do people actually see Foo Fighters as a 'strong' headliner? I'll watch them, and I'll probably end up having a good time, but for me they're a little more of a Reading & Leeds-y type of act. Am I completely off the mark?

there's nothing particularly exciting about them - but they're a huge worldwide act who have managed to evade headlining Glastonbury for a long long time, so i guess for a lot of people that's a big deal. obviously they've played everywhere else a lot, but not Glastonbury

Baffling as I find it and as grudgingly as I accept it, I can just about force myself to ignore accept that Wee Davie G and his Fighting Foos are not as unpopular as they deserve to be.

Fear not for the unpopularity is strong where I'm at.

I simply do not get it

    • I too am always a bit blurred on what/who constitutes a legend slot but would Sting fit that bill?  Those there said his IoW slot was v good and he has enough of a songbook imo for a Sun afternoon if he uses the Police's 1st 2 albums for a fair chunk of it
    • Thing is, I'd have said that as well.   But then she inexplicably ended up on the Wilderness lineup and that changes everything. I reckon if that goes well, which it will, then she's very much in the picture.
    • This has probably been discussed a hundred times already on efests but what constitutes a legend? I know some of it is my age but I don't see eurithmics or Duran Duran as legend status. Neil young or nils lofgren then yes and neither of them have overly troubled the charts. Duran Duran and indeed the eurithmics I would put in the 80s category and whilst it would be ok (human league at isle of wight we're fabulous) they just arent in my mind legend status.  Zombies played same festival- i would take that.
    • friendly tonight delayed , pitch draining pretty quick to be fair .... not sure it bodes well for other games with potential fixture backlog
