Would anyone be surprised if, after the third headliner announcement it transpired neil and Scott knew all along and we're "gagged" by the powers that be, maybe in a trade off for info on future events.

Part of me thinks there might be a reason nothing can be revealed.

it would, but them being billed as a 'world festival exclusive' for IOW would seem awfully odd if he knew about them also being at Glastonbury. i know all these exclusives are getting thrown about willy nilly, but i'm guessing a LOT of people have bought tickets for IOW on the basis of Fleetwood Mac being there. it'd be pretty scandalous

Can Glastonbury get away with it on the grounds that they don't sell tickets on the headliners names? The festival sold out a couple of months before FW were announced for IoW, the likelihood is by now that if someone wanted to see FM they'd buy an IoW ticket rather than hang on the remote joint possibilities of them playing GF and getting a resale ticket.

Now that demand for FM has died off - and IoW are announcing a new headliner this week whih will briefly push FM off the front page. Maybe GF can announce them? It's not this isn't preicely what happened last year...

This is me getting my hopes up in a colossal way. Hadn#t even considerd FM as a possibility.

They aren't. Neil said there was a story about FM that lent credence to the purple one being a contender.

as has been said, they're already booked on the Friday and Saturday, and don't do three days on the run. plus, you saw all the hubbub caused by Metallica's booking last year. they wouldn't be able to claim a world festival exclusive is they knew Glastonbury was on the cards

Ah, so I just completely misread Neil's post. Apologies.

This is what the wait is doing to me. It's completely unbearable. Somebody, for the sake of my sanity, please announce something!!!

Jesus God almighty. I cant cope. Will someone please announce the Roses already and put me out of my yearly P***** related misery.

I can't help.

I'm Matt42, and right now, today, I think it's either the Roses or Prince, and I don't think it's the Roses. So I think it's Prince.

Mick even said that they would absolutely not be at Glastonbury and for fans that have bought tickets to cancel them, and then they were announced as a world exclusive for Isle of Wight. I know Mick hates his fans and loves to rip them off but that'd be a step too far.

Few of us have been speculating this all year.

The way they seemed to have jumped about I don't think that's the case at all, I genuinely don't think they know.

Is that even a real festival?! I honestly believe the Libertines will be there somewhere...............even though they've said they 'don't think they'll be doing glasto' or whatever they said. Keep the hope.

Ahmed tea festival? it's real, saw Hot chip supported by Alt-J there a couple fo years ago. But, I'm not si sure about this libertines thing this year, Ahmed haven't realeased the details or updated their website for this year. Given the rouble tanking and the current economic crisis, I wouldn't be surprised if they haven't got the money for this year.

with roughly a week to go until the announcement it fills me with glee to see Prince's name as the main rumour for the Sunday, even if it is all based off of guesswork

There's a little bit more than guesswork to it. Not a lot tho, it's still mostly guesswork.

Tho a little less guesswork than it was this morning.

Don't forget tho, there's still RdB (supposedly, not heard it myself) saying he doesn't think Prince is coming to the UK this summer. And when it comes down to it, that's a damn sight stronger than I have that suggests him.

    • And thankfully not a 'comedy legend slot', as just announced by Sandringham
    • London show also has the k’s as support
    • Only three weeks away from the festival - they're leaving it rather late! Mind you, it seems the Saturday is already incredibly busy anyway. Day tickets sold out months ago.
    • Yep.   The fact that the festival felt the need to fudge the name like that suggests that they see it as a way to showcase solo legends, and on that basis INABS holds true - until it doesn't for whatever reason.
