That's very poor.

Would someone like swift really be up for coming over to play Glasto for that kind of money when she would normally get paid double that.

I don't think Glastonbury would have the same draw for her as it would for a british artist or someone thats been around for a bit longer.

I don't think Swift will be at glasto at all.

I agree that it wouldn't have the same draw as it would for a British artist, but since she's (in my opinion) only recently blown up in the UK, it could be a good chance for her to wriggle even further into our minds.. It feels like she's spent her career working towards this point, so now maybe it's time for her to branch out and do something even bigger?

That's a fair point. Though it wasn't a resounding success.

"Obviously"? Why doesn't she do that more often/at all?

It would be four nights, and her people could have arranged those Dublin shows for a few days later so I don't think she'll play, headlining or not. Singing for over an hour four days consecutively might be swept under the rug for a lot of people here but I think it's enough of a concern, particularly on a huge global platform.

She's done 3 nights many times. Didn't realise it would be 4 tho. Did another date get added? Even more reason for her not be there. I think ones expecting her will be very disappointed

But the people who would go to see a 'celebrity' on the Pyramid strike me as those who would be young enough to already go and see Taylor Swift.

I don't know a single person in a large contingent of Glasto regulars who would go to see a headliner due to celebrity status.

Not even sure what 'celebrity' status she has that warrants a mention over other headliners

I think it totally depends who would be on at the same time. If everyone on are acts someone isn't bothered about I suspect they'd opt for the pyramid

considering the festival seems to be making a move towards booking more female acts this year, who else is there? Florence has seemingly been ruled out. Madonna is a no-go. maybe there won't be a female headliner at all, but with a more female oriented lineup you'd definitely expect there to be one at the top of the bill. and what with the headliner pool getting thinner and thinner, she's seemingly one of the last ones standing (and the only one who there's been any 'word' on)

I think from Swifts point of view headlining Glasto would be an enormous achievement.

To put that on her CV would be great for her and I think she'd more than jump at the chance of doing it if the offer was there...

Anyway, who wouldn't have a dance to Shake it off?

Why is Madonna suddenly a 'no go'. She hasn't been ruled out to my knowledge, though I admit that she's always been unlikely.

Edit just seen your response:

I wouldn't say that tour makes her any more or less likely to be honest... In 2012 she did the SuperBowl prior to her tour, in 2008 she did Radio 1's Big Weekend prior to her tour & in 2006 she did Coachella prior to her tour. Basically she usually choses a big event to use as publicity prior to her tour.

I wasn't at the u2 performance, no idea where I was, as it goes, but watched it back on Iplayer. Not a band alive who could triumph in those conditions as headliner.

Only gig I've ever spent under a brolly in my life. The rain for the Who miles heavier but it wasn't as cold. Horrendous night.

I hope no one shouts at me, and believe me I hate myself for saying this, but what about Sam Smith.... Just won a shedload of awards and for some reason seems to be huge.

DON'T HATE ME I ALREADY PUNCHED MYSELF FOR SAYING THAT

definitely not a headliner, and i think he's busy all weekend?

Relax dude. I know the general view on here would be absolutely not, but i quite like the guy. Headliner at Glasto, no i dont think so just yet.

her tour starts in August - very unlikely that she'd debut it at Glastonbury two months earlier

Ah ok just seen. Ye makes it more unlikely, I didn't think it was likely in the first place though.

Kylie was the first person I had in my head to headline. I've since decided she's not big enough anymore...what's peoples thoughts? Not big enough?

she's very much in that 'big sub, small headliner' bracket. i'd love it but just don't see it really.

    • They had it last year too, between 3 and 4 pm.
    • I've been told beer will be cheaper until 6pm. Anyone can confirm?   Not like i'll drink more than 1-2 in 38 C degrees.
    • This!   Biffy Clyro I don't think would ever get asked, I just don't think it us their scene and it certainly wouldn't be a wise move for them after how the Finsbury Park show went. If they ever had a chance of regaining or staying a bit higher up taking Slam Dunk isn't how you do it. For the cost of it now I think being into the main headliner does make a difference though.
    • Sabrina I actually think is alright, but as an overall thing including Fontaines in the mix it does look very boring.
    • I went to the O2 show as had cheap NHS tickets. I did love the whole Machine Gun Kelly vs MGK Emo/Pop Punk stuff amusing and could see that show going down well. I thought it was so funny watching the video skits of a die hard old skool fan gradually morphing in to an Emo Kid. That show with less old Machine Gun Kelly tunes and more MGK Pop-Punk would be ace.   Pair him against a heavy act on the other stage and jobs a goodun,
