Headliners 2015

Okay, so headliners are Foos, Coldplay and Florence. Nothing wrong with that, looks good to me. Florence deserves a go and was good on her last tour.

Having seen them all before, if those are the headliners I only want to see Foo Fighters again as I've quite wanted to after watching that tv show they did recently, which I liked. Happy to be elsewhere when they other two play though (if they play)

I picture the end of my festival singing along to rocket man not wincing at Flo's wailing to you've got the love.

The collective "...and... HEAVE!!!" from the media to convince us Florence is a Glastonbury headliner is a larf.

If Flo is booked as headliner, it's unlikely that she'd have passed that info onto a journo or Zane.

Do you think that's not a route I try for getting info?

Zane is a moron. He'll go at an angle that he thinks is great - and as a result, from comments here, people will buy into it. Zane wins very time via that; those who believe him less-so.

And people have concluded that because of Zane's "headliner" thing, it must be Glasto. And yet there's still Bestival, T, and others where she could crop up - if Zane was actually ever on the ball with his 'headliner' thing.

She might be doing Glasto, but peeps are reading waaaaay too much into that interview.

A while back everyone was moaning that the festival should give a leg-up to some new blood. Now it's that Flo's not big enough...

Either way, in three weeks time we'll have R+L, V and T lineups to scan for Florence in lower spots and Latitude and probably Bestival lineups in case she's returning there. If the name is absent from all of those (though T doesn't really make a difference) then the Pyramid headline slot will seem a done deal.

Flo's definitely big enough - i don't know how people can deny that - she'd just be disappointing (especially as we already have one disappointing headliner in Coldplay, and another 'been at a festival every year' headliner in Foos). there's no exclusivity or shock there like there has been in previous years - it's just three fairly average headliners. the masses will eat it up, but you can understand why people on here are raising eyebrows

Nobody's really campaigned for any sort of 'inspiring' headliner that would be completely out of the box. Just Prince, Fleetwood Mac and AC/DC. They are all just huge acts that have their best work years behind them that they're still chucking out now. Credit to Foo Fighters really because they're the same but still seen as a current act by a lot of people.

You post that out of context however.

Coldplay headlining in 2002 is a totally different prospect compared to now, and even if not your cup of tea back then it could not be argued that it was as an uninspired choice then as it is now considering they headlined so often in the meantime.

Also at least Rod gave them some form of "big legend" on the bill. Not my thing, but he has been about for a while and had a fair amount of success...........

Yep, coldplay had a bit of a buzz about them in 2002. Stereophonics were the equivalent then of the arctic monkeys now and rod stewart and roger waters shared the top billing didnt they?

also, rod stewart in the faces was one of the greatest things of all time. The fact he sung stay with me at glastonbury already makes that set better than anything coldplay, foo fighters and swift/flo will do this year.

The thing is 2002 also had Roger Waters, The White Stripes, Faithless, Queen of the Stone age and many other brilliant acts.

If 2015 has dull pyramid headliners then hopefully there will lots of more exciting acts on the other stages

Lol. They really weren't. Their big hit at the time was "Have A Nice Day". An inferior Foos is a better comparison.

Like it or not, Florence has buzz about her. Foos will put on a good show and are absolutely massive.

There'll be great acts elsewhere on the bill. If Iggy turns up - and I reckon he will - then that's a legend far superior to Rod.

Can't believe I'm defending this trio (I'll see Foos at most), but I really don't think it's as bad as that 2002 lot. Like then, I'll mostly be at other stages.

Let's all hope they manage to bag AC/DC or Mr Purple and everyone can be happy. Apart from those who won't.

Or if you are referring to and calling the fact that she has an album out in June and a single out now (where is it in the shitty charts btw?) and she is doing what all artists do and sucking up the media attention a "buzz" then fair enough................theres a big ass media bullshit buzz about her..................whoop!
