cant see it being the stone roses after all the touring they did in 2012-13 but i would love it to be. the rumours they had split were denied, they are still working on a new album but u never know with them as they are all so tempermental so that could change. that being said if Eavis offered them the chance to they probably would

Apologies if this has been mentioned earlier and I've missed it, but why is Radiohead not a potential headliner?

people assume they wouldnt headline unless they had a new album out, and it seems unlikely a new album will be out by june

you never know though

A statement from David Bowie was read out on Saturday at a fundraising event for the Terrance Higgins Trust in a bar in Denmark Alley, London.

"This city is even better than the one you were in last year, so remember to dance, dance, dance. And then sit down for a minute, knit something, then get up and run all over the place. Do it. Love on ya. More music soon. David"

Saw that this morning too. Very exciting and raises the possibility of a live performance just a little bit higher. Unless it's the rumoured anthology in which case he'll just dust off a few old unseen clips for us to feed on until he pops up as a guest during a Lorde show in Neu Yoik.

That whole speech belongs to Nile Rodgers now.

Reading down through that account, new albums from U2, Take That, Madge, Emeli Sande, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Annie Lennox, due October/November. Wouldn't be surprised to see Sande and Ms Swift on the bill, and has anyone considered Annie Lennox for the legends slot ??

Flaming Lips are at eotr next month. Unfortunately, I've lost track of the last few albums. I'm way out of touch with them. Are they still worth seeing as a non-fan?

Yep they very definitely are. Even if you dont know the new songs, you'll enjoy them live.

They are opening with the abandoned hospital ship these days, it's mega. They've added the golden path to the set list too, which is interesting. Pray they dont drop feeling yourself disintegrate as the version they do now is sublime, with an extended guitar solo.

Jealous here.

Any takers on Snow Patrol?

Noticed at quite a few times this year, their songs were being played - thought it may be a hint of things to come.

They're kind of another band we've forgotten about, their albums have gradually got worse and don't really know what they're doing these days

The Abandoned Hospital Ship is one of the best openers I've ever seen. The latest show involved a half naked Wayne, some blow up aliens, glitter, a big platform and more of the wires. Wayne still can't sing but he more than makes up for it with his stage antics and the band sound better than ever. Steven Drozt is back on drums for a few songs too.
