So I've been every year bar one since 2007 and there are things I have just never got round or seen. Reading posts on this site makes me feel like a real newbie ( which I probably am compared to most of the posters). This is my list of stuff to try and finally get round to this year.....what's yours

1. To see a set at the Acoustic tent - always see it being set up at the beginning on the first days walk around but never thereafter

2. To see the strummer vile fire at night

3. To go into the underground piano bar - see 1.

4. To have a growler - actually they always look a bit gross - cross that one off

5. To see the Mutoid mechanical vehicle parade thingy

6. To see a set in the Avalon Cafe - actually to go in there generally

7. To have shower

8. To have a sh1t at the flush able porcelain toilets

9. To camp on the farmhouse side of the site - always in pennards, diary, pylon

1. To get in the shangri la. It's always too busy so I've gone to Arcadia / the Common

2. Bez's Acid House for a night

3. Go on a walk after the pyramid (I'm going to see Arcade fire and Metallica) and see where I end up.

4.. Don't go at it too hard on the Thursday...... sasha?!!!!!!

5. Find something I didn't know about and spend some quality time there

There are porcelain toilets?

Mine:

  1. Go to more of the smaller stages,
  2. Spend more time just chilling out sat around at the Stone Circle, looking at the view, people watching and generally chewing the fat with festy mates. Rather than charging around so much.

1. get into the secret area of the rabbit hole

2. go down the helter skelter at Avalon

3. see the Black Keys in a relatively sober state (the last time I saw them I was really drunk and I barely remember it, which I totally regret as they were touring El Camino at the time and I really love that album)

4 find the bin I purchased

5 for me and my robot obsessed girlfriend to control the robotic hand thing

6. pancakes in the beat hotel

Going to the piano bar would be nice too, as would seeing the Doritos Mariachi band if they don't clash with anything. Seeing something in the cabaret tent and getting jerk chicken from the place I get jerk chicken every year is also on the list but the first 6 are the priorities

I love this thread! I found the stone dragon the other day whilst walking the site - I was v excited. I've got such a long list of things to do, because I've been a few (3) times before I feel I need to *really* do Pilton this year, the other times I've gone has been mainly about the main stages. I cannot WAIT to discover the hidden gems I've overlooked. I have a list. I endeavour to cross a few off this year

included are:

Hare Krishna at night - seen them during the day but apparently at night they are even more awesome.

The Crows Nest - I have no idea what this is.

Champagne cocktails in Shangri La

Fluffy Rock cafe for breakfast and later for cocktails

Strummerville

Rabbit hole.

and thats just a few. Not planning but yeah, you know what I mean.

So many things. Haven't seen a band at the Acoustic Stage since about '97. Never been to Bez's Acid House. The circus tent has eluded me, though seen plenty of acts in that area. What's the place underneath the crashed plane called? Not been there. Bejeysus, this could go on a while.

Get into the proper rabbit hole bit.

Watch more DJ sets, in 4 years I've seen only 2 because none of my mates are really into electronic music.

That's about it I think. I've done most the things now, but I'm taking my girlfriend for the first time this year so I feel like I get to go through the excitement of discovering everything all over again!

    • Absolutely second this. Were great at Big Weekend and already have a great catalogue of songs forming so far. Would love to see them on the farm!
    • A mixed first day for us. First of all, we were honestly quite shocked that there was no security check at all at the VIP entrance around 7:30 PM. No bag check, nothing. I’ve attended Primavera many times over the years and this felt surprisingly lax for an event of this size. Did anyone else experience the same?   Another disappointment was the communication regarding the weather situation. Primavera has some of the best sound systems and speaker setups in the festival world, yet somehow they were not able to make a single clear announcement explaining what was happening. Instead, people were expected to read tiny messages on screens in Mordor while thousands were left wondering what was going on. A simple and direct audio announcement would have gone a long way.   On a lighter note, this guy absolutely made my day. Sitting right in front of the Estrella Damm terrace, wearing nothing but a long-sleeve shirt, jeans and a pair of Converse All Stars, he remained completely unbothered by the rain. While everyone else was looking for shelter, he sat there wearing sunglasses, calmly watching the crowd as if he was watching a movie.   Absolute main character energy!
    • I think my party got pretty lucky last night, at least compared to some of the horror stories over on Reddit. I was very impressed with Father John Misty in particular.   Perhaps my view would be different if I were a big Massive Attack fan or whatever, but right now my feeling is that if it's not safe for the shows to go ahead... then it's not safe for the shows to go ahead. I'd much rather they were cautious than roll the dice when it comes to something like that.    Here's hoping everyone has a better day today.
    • It was awful during Father John Misty and I was close to the front. People just shouting and laughing their f-ing heads off about nothing in particular and being louder than the bloody stage.
    • Other things I noted yesterday, away from the obvious…   Positives: - an extra water point towards the back left of the main stages has appeared, which I believe is new for this year (and was much needed) - handing out free ponchos was a good touch  - caroline were fantastic. I’d never been in the Auditori Rockdelux before, it’s a wonderful venue and a great venue if you fancy a more chilled out environment  Negatives: - the talkers. I know it’s always bad here (and most festivals nowadays) but f**k me people wouldn’t shut up yesterday. I wonder if it was partly as a result of people being at artists they had little interest in (due to rain limiting their options), although it wasn’t great during blood orange. We’ll be making an effort to get a spot nearer the front for anyone we particularly care about over the weekend  - not enough staff around (and the ones that are there are largely useless). Most other festivals have them everywhere and are happy to help
