jonnyisRFC
Yeah I'm not too pleased with that either, Can see NoFX being the other headliner. Edit: just seen NoFX are playing a one off show on the 8th of August in Oxford and then a festival a few weeks after Reading in the UK. mrtourette
Bit of a cop out getting Jimmy Eat World to headline after playing a main stage set. They've done this before with JEW. Not impressed. Yeah I'm not too pleased with that either, Can see NoFX being the other headliner. Edit: just seen NoFX are playing a one off show on the 8th of August in Oxford and then a festival a few weeks after Reading in the UK. But the 'double-duty' band is a semi-tradition, it's happened with others as well. Why is it suddenly an issue now?
Tobieski
Yeah I'm pretty sure Jimmy Eat World have done it before, as well as Flogging Molly and Alexisonfire
foolee
Taking Back Sunday, Anti-Flag, the Blackout and Reel Big Fish announced for a festival in Wales the weekend before R&L, not sure if this has any bearing on the lock up but could see a couple playing lock up if not all playing the festival. Chavmeisterdeluxe
TBS are exclusives but can definitely see Anti Flag playing as it's been 2 years since they played last and that's far too long for a band to not play the lock up.
Tobieski
I would say both Reel Big Fish and Anti-flag are lock up headliners so I couldn't see both of them on the lock-up.
mrtourette
Anti-flag only subbed last time, they'd probably do the same again.
rivalschools.price
Reel Big Fish have been playing smaller venues and supported Less than Jake last time out so they could easily be a sub instead of headliner.
deadpheasant
Reel Big Fish would make a great addition to the main stage or a Lock up headliner
justanothername
TBS are exclusives but can definitely see Anti Flag playing as it's been 2 years since they played last and that's far too long for a band to not play the lock up. The amount of bands that played lock up in 2011 and again in 2013 - 1 (Sharks) The amount of bands that played lock up in 2010 and again in 2012 - 3 (Trash Talk, Random Hand, This Is Hell) And they aren't the biggest Lock Up acts in the world
Buko
Need to get the get up kids again. Would be pleased with Gnarwolves, Menzingers, Touche Amore, Title Fight, Wonder Years, Reel Big Fish before JEW would be spot on, early november, Cancer Bats, love them to get Descendents to come back but i'm not getting my hopes up. I'd The Wonder Years! They're great! Gnarwolves are good too so I'd like to see them there
Chavmeisterdeluxe
Wonder Years would be pretty awesome.
dan1892
But the 'double-duty' band is a semi-tradition, it's happened with others as well. Why is it suddenly an issue now? It's always been a poor booking in my opinion. On another note I'd love to see The Interrupters this year.
Andre91
Are The Wonder Years big enough to open the main stage? Would be a decent way of starting off the Blink day.
Gucci Piggy
They're shit enough.
huntyyy
Wonder Years would be a perfect opener to the Blink Day
mrtourette
Wonder Years would be a perfect opener to the Blink Day Why the only Blink day? And why only opening?
huntyyy
Why the only Blink day? And why only opening? Wouldn't have thought they were big enough to play higher than opening main stage, and that's where I'd personally like them to play
mrtourette
Ah OK I thought there was a specific reason they'd be better on the Blink day.
jonnyisRFC
50+ acts announced tomorrow, who reckons we will see the full lock up announced? Or will they go down the usual root of R1 punk show?
Gucci Piggy
50+ acts announced tomorrow, who reckons we will see the full lock up announced? Or will they go down the usual root of R1 punk show? Well we've seen the positions they're announcing, and it includes Lock Up headliners, but no more than that.
