Kanye West

Love Kanye's music, fancy him to be a shit performer mind.

I saw him on the Watch the Throne tour, and Jay-Z was the much better performer. Kanye lost that battle when he did a 10 minute autotune solo. Recon he might stink out the place if he headlined

Not that who is headlining the Pyramid really bothers me but...........

For a long time now I have had a feeling there will be a surprise for the Saturday, someone who nobody has thought of and it will be fantastic.

Personally I would love to see AC/DC there as they are back in the studio recording anew album and will be touring this year!!

considering it's looking likely that it'll be Metallica who goes up against whoever's headlining the Pyramid (if it isn't Metallica themselves) i doubt it'll be AC/DC

Would absolutely love Kanye to play. Seen him on his own and also with Watch the Throne. He's a bit of a bell end but he's got more than enough songs to put on a great show. MBDTF is an absolute masterpiece from start to finish.

i was thinking of doing Wireless the week after Glasto pretty much just for Kanye (rest of the lineup is good as well, but Kanye was the main draw) so this would save me an awful lot of money if it's true

You give everyone else such a hard time for having 'shit tastes in music' and you come out wanting garbage like this?

Justin Timerlake and now Kanye?! Hahahaha!

He probably has 7 or 8 massive songs, and another 4 or 5 very well known.

Off the top of my head: All Falls Down, Slow Jamz, Jesus Walks, Through The Wire, Touch The Sky, Gold Digger, Stronger, Heard 'Em Say, Heartless, Love Lockdown, Power, All Of The Lights, Diamonds Are Forever, Can't Tell Me Nothing

the thing is, i don't throw a hissy fit when people question my music taste like others seem to as i realise that this is a discussion forum and that everybody's entitled to their opinion, and that somebody else's opinion on my music taste doesn't change or mean anything ;)

I got your back brah JT and Kanye West make choons. But I understand people not realizing my desire to see these guys at a festival is exactly the same as me not understanding why people still seem to want to see stuff like Pink Floyd. It's all opinion

Kasabian can't be headlining the Saturday Shirley?

It could be.

For all I know things might have changed from what I last heard. I don't get to find out till that announcement.

But you can be sure as hell that I wouldnt have bet £50 with the first bet I've made at a bookies in my life on Kasabian, if I didn't feel exceedingly confident of that info.

This exactly ^^^ (except i bet frequently)

I've been reading these forums for the last six months and never seen one so divided! :sarcastic:

Plenty of people didn't like the idea of Jay-Z, including several famous ones, headlining in the past, and I don't think Beyonce was everyones favourite either. I think Kanye would be something different to the indie on the Friday, and the (hopefully) metal on the Saturday. If you're after bands like Kasabian, then the Other stage and JP are packed full of bands like that.

With the perception that Kasabian are a band for football hooligans... I believe the decision to put them on the sunday night is to try and split up people who could go and watch a potential england game.

Kanye Westbis globally a bigger act. If he is on IMO he is headlining, but Im hoping he isn't. Then again I will find somewhere else to be.

With good reason. The intro aside, he was abysmal.

If he'd been any good I suspect the likes of kanye, eminem and the other pop-rappers would have headlined by now.

Thankfully he stunk the place out.

Similarly, Beyonce was terrible (thouhg I didnt watch her I must confess), hence the reason there has been no rhianna/katy perry/lady gaga headliner since.

I suspect when metallica perform to a rapidly emptying field, they will not pave the way for iron maiden and the like to headline in future.

These sorts of acts always get found out on the biggest stage.

Regardless of my own opinion of it, I don't think Beyonce's appearance was anything other than a success.

And again, regardless of whatever the end result, if the festival's going to have any sort of longevity in the years to come, artists like Kanye should at least be given a shot at it. It can't just rely on heritage acts.
