Yes but you can't say that about Bonnaroo, and in 2008 Metallica stole the show, they also blew the Rolling Stones off stage on the big bang tour in San Francisco!

really hope they are confirmed soon, its going to be epic!

HELL of a line up.

just asked on the sonisphere chat thing if metallica were still exclusive and they said yes why and i then said because everyone is saying they are playing glasto and they said its a rumour and 'as far as we're concerned they are not playing'. they also metiioned oasis and i said what do you think about that and they said we'll have to wait and see.

pretty irrelevant but just thought i'd mention it as they have taken UK exclusive off the poster for soni now.

Why? Just to be a smartarse?

It's really a waste of your time and theirs. Those chat things are generally staffed by a customer service assistant, who probably doesn't even work for the promoter (this kind of service is generally bought in) and will have very little idea of what's going on other than the little information they've been given (ie a list of faqs).

The same person you chatted with, at the sasme time, was probably helping someone with their washing machine repair and someone else interested in buying a new TV. Basically, more often than not, they're no better informed than the person asking the questions.

What Geezer, Tony and Ozzy?

F*ck off.

Sadly i would agree with Russy on this one i don't think its to do with the members more that they are well passed their performing capablities anymore and the new album was bloody awful. I saw them at the Hydro in Glasgow last December and it was quite possibly one of the most boring gigs i've ever been to when they played new and old songs. War Pigs was grand though.

13 was tons better than Forbidden, Cross Purposes era.

They sucked so much. Seventh star too that was crap.

But original line-up hands down made the best music.

Yeah deffos but i really wasn't a fan of 13 i think the long songs put me off it a bit around 13 minutes for quite a few of them and live it was worse.

I saw them at their Birmingham reunion show and it was phenomenal. Excellent energy from Ozzy, Geezer and Tony and their drummer was spot on.

Was that the smaller show? I'm just wondering if it was maybe the hydro that made me feel the way about them the sound was very quiet but Geezer and Tony were great Ozzy was a bit off i felt although his vocals have never been very great.

Saw Black Sabbath last night at the Hollywood Bowl, a most fantastic concert, the highlights being the songs they did of '13'. After Metallica are confirmed for this year, we should start a campaign for Sabbath for next :-) Rock has a place at Glasto, two of the best performance I've ever seen at Glastonbury were Page & Plant and Rage Against The Machine!

I still think Metallica will play mainly because no one is denying it, not Emily or Metallica - both would of done if they weren't playing I'm sure!

    • Wow, way to insult the guy.
    • yougov seems to be the outlier when it comes to the Burnham bounce. But also, being a bounce, it was never going to last, but with Reform maybe on the way down, and Tories holding steady, we could end up with Reform, Labour and Tories all between 20 and 25% for a while. A lot of it at moment with Burnham is vibes, and the vibes are currently sexy and are pulling support back from Greens, but the autumn budget is key...will they go big and bold, or will they do very little because they're thinking a 2027 general election?
    • Attended a gig at Piece Hall for the first time on Saturday (Opeth), the music was excellent. Just a couple of points on the organisation & the event itself. - Getting through the gates seemed to take longer than required. I was at the South gate about 30 mins before stated start time and still missed first half of Katatonia. - Coffee stall was serving cold coffee later on. - Lots of the crowd seemed to be more interested in chatting than listening to the music. Doubly annoying when sound levels for Opeth seemed quieter than Paradise Lost, is this usual for the venue due to curfew etc? Luckily there was enough room so I could move close to the front of the crowd and couldn't hear drunken chatter anymore 🙂
    • Tickets will just be sent out via email; going out next Monday 10th August apparently.
