According to this article The Doritos Band self confirmed Avalon Stage 3 - 4pm 29th June on Channel 4 today http://stagedoor.fm/2014/05/04/doritos-band-mariachis-glastonbury-performance/

Gonna be the first person to complain that they're not a band but an advert by a megacorp. There's a million and one bands from Mexico that they could invite that don't basically exist just to sell crisps.

But they're filling the novelty slot in the Avalon! The whole point is to get a novelty band in that people will like 'heh dat will be a laugh' consider them 3 poofs and a piano or The Wombles of this year. Any other Mariachi band doesn't hit that spot.

Guess it depends if they are just there by themselves or whether doritos will be there giving out freebies

That's unfair they've been a band since 2002

Yeah that. Some advertising executive must have seen them play and offered them a deal... And, really, you'd take it wouldn't you? I know I would.

I bet they'd be great fun and I'll be there as long as there's nothing else on.

Yay Mungo's Hi Fi! Missed them completely last year, this year will be different.

    • Monaco comes across to me as something that's great for just watching people driving around, especially this year as it feels like this is a track where they can actually push compared to other circuits where superclipping ruins it, but where the cars seem to have outgrown it.   Though tbf Formula E has had decent Monaco races recently so maybe its a sign of car development philosophy being a factor.
    • Feel like a lot of people do just sit around by the stage at a festival waiting for one act anyway, no? I know Swift has a big mega-fandom - she wouldn't have done so many Wembley shows last year if she didn't - but it's not like she'd be unique in playing a festival and drawing a crowd on that specific day just for her.   But then tbf I feel like there'd be a few happy just to mosy around the rest of the site until maybe 2/3 acts beforehand.
    • Pretty good imo. Though I'm aware my position of being a big fan means I'm biased.   Reminds me a little of Justice, which shouldn't be that much of a surprise given I've heard Justice played a lot in Muse's pre-show playlists over the years.
