Latitude 2014

I tried, I tried bloody hard for even an added 2nd middle name but she wasn't having any of it haha.

She has a hatred for bjork, which after 13 years of me being obsessed while I've been with her is understandable lol.

Some women eh!

Side issue didn't you go and see albarn last week? How was it?

Not I. Might be Dog Burger?

Thoughts on this big special guest that 'might not be able to reveal until the weekend of the festival' or is Melvyn just overhyping it?

Not sure. Seems different to the normal legend slot thing they have going. Do we reckon it's bigger than headline sized? I can't remember exactly what he was saying about it.

I concur, shit clash though, again most of my mates will be at Editors, but I think i'll manage to convince a few to come to slowdive with me as they know they're my fave band of the weekend

Annoying clash IMO, but there's absolutely no chance I'll be missing Slowdive. None.

Morning all sorry to be "That Guy" but done Kendal Calling for the last two years, but this years line-up isn't doing anything for me.

Heard some great things about Latitude so booked my ticket last night.

In terms of size I believe its about twice the size of Kendal, one thing I loved about Kendal was the close proximity to the arena making it easy to nip bank the tent for a coat or a few more layers. Is this similar at Latitude?

I wont bombard everyone with questions just yet but would love some advice and tips for this!

Thanks in advance

it's interesting that Mogwai are back. It is the first time that a previous headliner has played again (in the same band) after they have headlined (Damon will have done it twice with TGTBTQ and solo).

Albeit in this instance it is 7-8 years since Mogwai headlined and then it was a much smaller festival (15k I think).

Shows that Melvin is perhaps open to repeat headliners, something he said wouldn't happen. I guess it is a bit different because now they are only headlining the smaller stage.

Re the special guest that can't be announced, banner says 'keep your eyes peeled'.

Name of the first track on Queen of the Stone Age's ...Like Clockwork album is Keep Your eyes Peeled.

Doubt it as not exactly a Latitude band!

haha! this is deffo happening then...im guessing its the sunday sub thats the special guest? QOSA although completely not a latitude band would kinda make sense, im still going with pixies meself ;)

    • I found the vibe a little different to recent editions.. definitely an older crowd, less queer, less Spanish.. certainly has something to do with the lack of Glastonbury this year. And I felt Saturday was a little overcrowded. I‘ve never seen Mordor as full as last night for the xx and Gorillaz. Did not enjoy that too much.
    • Not my favourite year either, despite liking the lineup more than previous years. Not sure what it was, I guess Thursday really put the brakes on things. But yeah I'll be back next year hopefully. And maybe Massive Attack will return...
    • E-mail summarizing Saturday - Primavera Sound 2026 Journal Day 3. As in previous days, it's going to be on the website soon, I think.
    • I was surprised as well. I met more than 20 different people on both Friday and Saturday that had come in reusing QR codes.
