Wouldn't argue with Chemical Brothers or Stone Roses.

Roses may be more likely after 1995, and the chance to appear 'heroes', increase the PR etc.

Alternatively, kick Arctic Monkeys off too and officially re-name the festival GlaSTONESbury, in which every night the Rolling Stones headline.

I am, one of the bands I'm most excited for, will be gutted if they pull out! This forum seems like a vocal minority thing, I'm sure they'll still have a great crowd.

(and no I'm not a posh tory farmer boy who wears tweed and all that, just a normal guy who happens to like M&S)

I'd be really pleased if they make it. I've really enjoyed both albums and don't know or care about who they are or where they are from, only the music they make.

I'm still enjoying reading the rampant speculation however and REALLY hope that if they do pull out it is someone that Russy hates even more. Florence isn't busy, is she?

I've never believed the theory that Mumford will get the most massively enormous crowd, they're huge in the actual world, but that's because they've tapped a market that doesn't buy music, and ergo doesn't go to Glastonbury. I have no faith at all in humanity as a species, but I do have faith in Glastonbury goers, however this faith may be shown to be massively misplaced a couple of weeks on Sunday... when Mumford and Sons play, because they're not pulling out.

yeah this is pretty much what i believe. they'll have a massive crowd, no doubt about it. aren't gonna be any gaping holes in the crowd, anyway. but it's not gonna touch the size of the Stones crowd like a lot of people on here seem to believe. Mumfords are massive, but as you said, mostly to an audience who don't particularly care about music - they just hear something on the radio and buy the record. i think the majority of Glastonbury goers really do love music - you'd have to to bother going through the stresses of ticket day, which other fests don't have to the same extent. at T In The Park there crowd will be absolutely ridiculous. at Glastonbury, big, but not much above a usual headliner

I get why, but I think you overestimate, along with a lot of people here, the average Glastonbury attendee. It doesn't take a lot to decide you want to go and then sit at a computer for an hour in October.

    • I’ve been banging the drum for Annie to get the legend slot for ages now. Hope it happens 🤞🤞🤞

    • I really like the Cheap Thrills! I saw them at the Ruby Lounge in Manchester in January at one of Chris Hawkins' "Awesome Friends" nights (which i think is why I even got tickets as it wasn't listed as a Cheap Thrills show!). Very good live and some great songs. I would've gone Saturday if I'd planned ahead!
    • They also seem to be in a mission to break the US with their new major label and this latest LP   Mid afternoon, live streamed on Disney+ is arguably a much bigger gig than Kendal Calling, if they had to skip one
    • This is massively exciting. I've been curious to who will be provide vocals for their live show and this is mega!
