The XX sound quite feasible given it's only a fortnight away - headline set from Nick Cave would be the dream - closing Glastonbury with Stagger Lee

Well why don't they just come out and say it if they know already they'll have to cancel? They must be playing it by ear with the assumption that he will be okay.

having the xx headline the pyramid would be the most anti climatic and depressing end to the festival i could imagine.

i know there are other acts to see etc but i'm surprised they're headlining the other stage let alone being talked about to replace a pyramid stage headliner!

If they announced this in the middle of the night (our time), it's quite possible they hadn't spoken with Glastonbury. They obvs had to make a statement about Bonnaroo, and therefore the other US dates before then. Basically no one knows but the signs point to a cancellation (I would say).

I highly doubt they would bump up The xx when there are Dizzee Rascal and Primal Scream which have recognisable hits.

I was one of the very few on here wanting to see them, despite not feeling they were headline material, but had enjoyed them in previous years. I don't feel the xx would be right to close the pyramid, would much rather they moved the arctics that will make the arctic - Cyrstal castle - chic - horrors decision a bit easier.

Haven't the rolling stones asked primal scream to be on before them, therefore I doubt they would move.

I think either way,if the Eavii weren't on the phone before they certainly will be now. If there's going to be a cancellation I think we will hear about it along with the full lineup/stage times announcement on Monday.

They cancelled tellarude which is the week before.

Also note the timezone difference. They made this decision last night and would have notified the festival first. They may not have had the opportunity to discuss it with glasto.

Of course they might have decided they cant afford to miss glasto, and have shipped the poor guy on a boat so he doesnt have to fly, and will roll him out on stage on strings, weekend at bernies style!

most of us work for 40 hours a week.

A normal working week for a major band classes as "taking it easy" in the terms of the rest of us.

There is no legal duty of care towards the health of a freelancer - only employees. The freelancer has his own duty of care to himself.
