Jet stream going back to where it should be is very very very good news. I live in a bit of the uk where rain is er...frequent but it feels different to last yr already. We're getting showers instead of literally wall to wall low persistent cloud cover that just chucked it down for weeks and weeks on end.

I love the fact that I'm drawn in to the weather already... We all know that there is no decent way of forecasting this far out but we are taking the postives where we can.

Its bloody hopeless but I know I'll be obsessing about the weather for the 8 weeks. And before anybody feels the need to tell me its not all about the weather, I know, I get that, I've been going for 23 years and would say I prefer it when the weather is ok rather than the mud bath we have had a few times in the past.

Yes, thats right, 8 weeks today.

Oh blimey, me too...cannot believe im looking at this thread already!! I know its waaaaay early to tell, and the weather changes as much as i change my outfits before a night out(!).....which, if you hadnt guessed, is a hell of a lot!!

.....buuuuuuut.....

A little bit of sunshine in the midlands the last couple of days has really got me excited and feeling all 'festivaly'

Lets hope the bugger lasts ;)

Ive forgotten what warm feels like :ninja:

I was thinking earlier the weather we're having in london at the moment would be absolutely perfect for glastonbury. warm enough to wear a t shirt but not laggingly hot, with clear blue skies and cooler evenings

of course this means absolutely nothing with just under 2 months still left, but if the netweather info is right then hopefully we'll be in for a good year. platitude alert but atmosphere's always better in the sun isn't it?

Oh yes! Just picked up on that

Nice to see JACKONE's started off, and bit earlier, this year, than I was expecting him too on the Newtweather weathe chat forum too .,.

Obviously far too early to be reliable, but he seems quite optimistic.

I'll be keeping an eye out on that particuar thread over there ... as I'm sure we all will. :)

The first preliminary look at the festival period from the 22nd of June to the 26th June 2011.

At this stage I am looking at the daily forecasts from CFS, more to build up trends at this stage.

The first runs suggest mostly settled and dry with a few showers. However we remain at T+1056 , so still way away from any more than initial speculation.

I'll continue to collect the daily and weekly forecast as they come out and will do a round up of these on the the next update (Friday).

One of my mates who has done about 25 various festivals, has only experienced one rainy festival which was Download 11.

He's known in our group of mates as a lucky charm for the weather as it's near on ALWAYS hot at every festival he goes to.

He's been to one previous Glastonbury which was 2010.....and I got him a ticket in the October sale for this years..... :beach:

Have no fear folks...this one is going to be a goodun :)

As you can see the data from around this far out in 2011 looked positive, but we all know how things turned out.

I think we've only just got in range I terms of the long term forecasting models and we need to hold our breath for a while, it's only if we start to get lots of model runs agreeing on good weather that I think we can be more positive.

Ps it seems that the 2011 thread is still up on NW so at some stage I may try and do some analysis on Jackones prediction vs what actually happened.
