The last time this happened, they showed it in the tent in the village IIRC, most of our lads couldnt be arsed to make the walk (we were in RIP). But the dodgy lineup this year means that I reckon many will make the effort. Theres also the pubs in Donington too.

I wouldn't mind Reef

Regarding England game, they've said they're defiantly showing it, and it will be on after all the music has finished, but they still haven't said where it will be, you'd have to think it would be in the Village but the problem with that would be everyone would be coming back to campsite and you'd have to reckon around 75% of campers would want to watch it.

Must be a real pain in the ass planning the viewing of that.

Ideal situation would be it being shown in the arena on main stage screens I guess, they'd also sell a shit load more beer in the arena during that, which could offset any any costs in keeping arena open later

R&L does indeed look pump. The more I look at Download the more I like it and I liked it from the start. OK, so there are no major blockbuster bands this year but there is lots I do like. 93 days to go.

    • Plenty of good stuff this month. Very difficult choice, but I'm going with some of those I've listened to most (the sunny weather may also have been influential)...   1. The Coral - 388 2. Kurt Vile - Philadelphia's Been Good to Me 3. The Lemon Twigs - Look For Your Mind!   Others I've been enjoying... Laurie Anderson's live album, Broken Social Scene, Pigeon, The Black Keys, etc
    • Yesterday was was Primavera is all about and a reminder of why I come back every year. I saw 9 acts, very diverse in terms of genre and vibe, and most of them were great.  Highlights:   The Cure - have wanted to see them for years. Finally caught them and it was immaculate. Robert Smith's vocals at his age are incredible. The band sounded exactly like the albums which is impressive. 2.5 hours with basically no filler somehow.  Viagra Boys - what a front man! So much energy. Non stop moshing. Sound was great, vibe was top notch. Again 10/10 for me.  Rilo Kiley - basically what pipan said. Not a huge crowd but nice vibe, good sound. Different from the other acts I saw.   I also enjoyed the late night electronic stuff with Aurora Halal and KI/KI being fun. Caught some of Skrillex before Aurora Halal and it was cool in it's own way but not really my thing so we left.
