Hmm. I could give a setlist where at least ten of them are proper smashers that would really get the crowd going. However, the thing for me is whether they should do that or not. They're a very good live act anyway, and they've progressed massively since '07. I'd rather they showed how much they've progressed as an act.

It's a conflict between whether they want to say:

"We are the same band from 07, we are just back to give the crowd what they want"

or

"We've grown up and progressed since then".

Ironically enough, they were roundly criticised for not having enough material back in 07/Alex not having personality, but now they do have both, there seems to be calls for them to focus on the first record.

I don't think a Homme appearance is in any way likely, although I'd like it. He's guested with them before and he features on the recorded version of Dance Little Liar and has played on that and Jewellers Hands live I think, so maybe either of them two. However, its doubtful either of them will make it into the setlist unfortunately.

I think realistic guests we are looking at would be Miles Kane, Dizzee Rascal, Nick Cave or Richard Hawley. As long as Miles Kane is as far away as possible im happy I'm not counting Jon Ashton as a guest as he is bound to.

I agree on Bastille, saw them supporting muse and they were terrible. Worst song was the one I know!

Courteeners though....I am very gutted about the clash with arctics. I've seen them loads of times and was looking forward to seeing them on the peel stage, but arctic monkeys will be a pretty special one if they're making up for last time. Plus I'm seeing courteeners 2 mins from my flat in Castlefield a week later!

Keep reading on here that their 2007 Glastonbury gig was pretty bad, have to disagree with that! Was my first glasto and thought they were amazing, loads of energy, wicked set list with a few suprises (dizze and diamonds are forever), can't wait to see them this year

ive got a feeling there gunna play a setlist heavily drawing from their 1st and 2nd albums. they know they need to smash it, and they know that their first 2 albums are the more popular. expect them to drag out mardy bum, when the sun goes down, teddy picker etc i know these havent been in recent setlists but i reckon they will be pulled out.

    • It was awful during Father John Misty and I was close to the front. People just shouting and laughing their f-ing heads off about nothing in particular and being louder than the bloody stage.
    • Other things I noted yesterday, away from the obvious…   Positives: - an extra water point towards the back left of the main stages has appeared, which I believe is new for this year (and was much needed) - handing out free ponchos was a good touch  - caroline were fantastic. I’d never been in the Auditori Rockdelux before, it’s a wonderful venue and a great venue if you fancy a more chilled out environment  Negatives: - the talkers. I know it’s always bad here (and most festivals nowadays) but f**k me people wouldn’t shut up yesterday. I wonder if it was partly as a result of people being at artists they had little interest in (due to rain limiting their options), although it wasn’t great during blood orange. We’ll be making an effort to get a spot nearer the front for anyone we particularly care about over the weekend  - not enough staff around (and the ones that are there are largely useless). Most other festivals have them everywhere and are happy to help
