I for one would welcome them on the pyramid stage. Have seen them twice at their peak and they are a great band to watch live. I seem to remember the filler music between bands blasting out one of their many hits and the whole field burst out in song. I know they are not your traditional glasto music but hey there has been some dodgy stuff on over the years and it is a festival that can cater for everyone!

I personally would love to see them. I think they'd doa great live show! I grew up with them & have never seen them live. So I would love the opportunity to see them. If they aren't good, the ok, but at least I could say I've seen them! :)

I've seen them at their rawest when promoting their first album at castle donnington monsters of rock 85, and a few headline arena shows during 90s. They always gave 100% to win over the crowd in those days. No doubt they would make a good afternoon Sunday greatest hit set, but I wonder how hungry they still are for new music. I don't recall anything of note in their original format for last few years, other than radio friendly generic ditties. If they can pull off a 'Bruce' and bring us something fresh I would be interested. My guess is this will suit hard rock calling more than glasto

Seen them half a dozen or so times (was the first gig I ever went to in 1989 - I see you were there too drewsstrat!) but not since about 2000. They would be pretty good at Glasto, but a headliner? I'm not so sure. They have the back catalogue and the sing-alongs, always put on a good stage show and good wide appeal... now I think about it, they have all the ingredients but still..... I'm just not quite convinced. Not sure why.

Anyway, looks like they'll be doing IOW if anything.

Yes 1989 in Milton Keynes, great gig probably in my top 10, I think it was the one when they got joe perry and Steve Tyler out for walk this way. I always remember them playing a mini set outside my office building once on a bandstand in queen street Cardiff! when they did a whistlestop 4 cities in a day promo tour to flog tickets for their stadium shows which were not sold out. i had to grovel to my then boss to let me stay out and watch. notice they are doing quite a few dates in June, one being down the road from me at the Cardiff city stadium. If I can get a ticket at sensible money I may even take a look for old times sake

I've seen them live about 8 or so times.. Always been good value for money. They aint gonna (Bon Jovi speak) change the world or set new musical paramaters but they are an enjoyable enough live experience. I'd go and watch them whatever slot they may be given.

Damn right. God it was hot, girls 'loosening' their clothes everywhere, Skid Row were the perfect support. Sebastian Bach's rant about the local council whipped the crowd into a frenzy and G 'n' R were simply superb.

Christ, that was one hell of a gig. Where did it all go wrong?

I can't see bon jovi playing the pyramid, as a full band they're too big to do anything but headline (including legends slot) and i don't think they fit with the demographic and taste of enough glasto goers to be a popular headliner. Were it me booking acts i'd see if you could get jbj to do an acoustic set as say park special guest, perhaps announced on the day and scheduled as sunset/penultimate act of the day... so there's enough on elsewhere to make sure there's no crush (pardon the pun). The many that dislike them could stay away but I'd enjoy it hugely...

More likely iow because it will pay for them, somehow don't see jbj smart businessman as he is agreeing glasto. I was interested in a documentary on Bon jovi on how much control jbj has on the band. He's the director of the outfit and even the likes of Richie sambora seem to be yes men. Kept going though which is worth some credit

I've been biting my tongue for a few days over this, but no longer.

They're rubbish, properly fucking awful on every single level. Musically atrocious, artistically laughable, aesthetically ridiculous. They are everything I detest and fucking hate about music. I can think of few bands who enrage me so much. There are bands whose music I don't like but I can see they've got something. Not this motley collection of dullards. The fact that they exist and are still going, I see as some staggering cosmic joke. I don't want to resort to swearing but really, an absolute shower of c**ts, to a man.

(obviously, it's all about opinions yadda yadda yadda, but on this occasion, the above is not opinion, just pure 100% fact)

I mean really, try and watch 10 seconds of this without the word 'bellend' springing unbidden into your mind.
