Rolling Stones...

I tried, I really did. I even bought (and still own) the pink 12" single....... but, sorry

Passing aside the opportunity to make jokes about pink twelve-inchers, even if you dislike the nmothership I'd still recommend the extra album on the special edition that came out a couple of years ago. Most of it's a lot more old-school than the album, and it's a better than average Stones album in its own right.

Emotional Rescue Watch

A track that now needs someone to come to its rescue.

Otherwise - Holy shit:

1 - Get Off Of my Cloud

2 - IORR

3 - Paint it Black

4 - Gimme Shelter

5 - All Down the Line

6 - Far Away Eyes

7 - Sway with Mick Taylor

8 - Doom and Gloom It's All Over Now (with Womack) or Dead Flowers

9 - One More Shot Street Fighting Man

10 - Can´t You Hear me Knocking with Mick Taylor

11 - Honky Tonk Women

12 - You Got the Silver - Keith

13 - Before They Make me Run - Keith Happy - Keith

14 - Midnight Rambler with Mick Taylor

15 - Miss You

16 - Start me Up

17 - Tumbling Dice

18 - Brown Sugar

19 - Sympathy for the Devil

Encore

20 - You Can´t Always Get What You Want

21 - Jumping Jack Flash

22 - Satisfaction with Mick Taylor

Taylor now doing four tracks. This was the one to be at.

And that ladies and gentlemen, will do nicely.

Out of interest, this whole 'vote a song' thing, will that occur at Glastonbury? I can feel an overwhelming landslide for Dancing in the Street coming on...

Nah - I think it's a thing for Citibank customers.

Not impossible that Barclaycard may do something like that for Hyde Park, but doubt Glastonbury will factor into that.

Edit: Can't watch the CYHMK clip, but people on IORR are seriously losing their marbles over it.

Do we think they'll do a set that long?. I can see it being around 18 songs

yeah they'll probably have to cut a fair few songs - hopefully Doom & Gloom / One More Shot, but it'll probably be these interchanging songs they're doing on their tour. if i was gonna take a guess at their setlist (based on their current ones) i'd say:

Get Off My Cloud

It's Only Rock 'N' Roll (But I Like It)

Paint It Black

Gimme Shelter

All Down The Line

Doom & Gloom

Honkey Tonk Women

Before They Make Me Run

Happy

Midnight Rambler

Miss You

Start Me Up

Tumbling Dice

Brown Sugar

Sympathy For The Devil

You Can't Always Get What You Want

Jumpin' Jack Flash

(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction

Possibly not, I'll meet you in the middle though and suggest it'll be around 20/21. Their shows are around 2h30 aren't they? And I can't see, after all this hard work getting them, the Stones having a short set time.

Hope you're right - I'd be more than happy with that :D

It's certainly going to be most of that - party time! Excellent!

Sorry to go back to it but the Bowie gig in 2000 was rammed from front to back. I began watching it from high up on the hill and it was bloody murder trying to get further forwards, and this was pre-camping chairs days! It had been rumoured that he would run through the hits for weeks and EVERYONE went to see him (apart from a couple of people who shall remain nameless but will never forgive themselves) plus it was the year that sooooooo many people bunked in that they had to invent the "Superfence"! the festival and its demographic have changed a lot since then but I think it'll be similar for The Stones, if it's dry.

These video's are getting better with every night, but I can't for the life of me understand why people who have paid so much spend all night filming.

It might just be the videos but the crowd seem lifeless....the Stones are going to be in for a real shock when they arrive at Glasto!

I like Shattered, Some Girls and Just My Imagination... that's it

I don't like Shattered but plenty of great tunes on Some Girls.

Very much liking Mick Taylor doing more tracks. Although I've seen them do it before, add Sweet Virginia to that set list and I'll be a very happy camper.

11 more shows to go in the US and Canada, with the final pre-Glasto show in DC on Mon 24th of June.

Hopefully that 4 day lay-off and Transatlantic flight won't throw any spanners into the works.

And hopefully they have a rehearsal room booked somewhere for the Saturday to help iron out any kinks.
