Having a listen to their new album, and I think this record sounds more Strokes-like than the first one. Not necessarily the voice but the guitar parts especially!

Basically, I could imagine Casablancas singing to the instrumental and it'd sound like a Strokes song. I imagine they'll play Pyramid having played Other last time around; 3rd is not a bad shout.

EDIT: Saying that, I've only listened to a few songs, it might completely change style in a minute

I watched Soccer AM with my brother yesterday. What an absolutely dreadful show. But The Vaccines actually came across quite well. They're a shit band, but I'd expect them to be high Pyramid. Probably 3rd.

What the fuck is an undercard? Where has this term sprung from?

It joins my list of expressions for which I have a visceral, and entirely irrational, hatred. A list topped by the expression "can I get...", closely followed by "going forward" and the recent development of starting senetnces with "so..."

Undercard is hardly new. It's been around for years and years, mainly in sports I'll admit.

Well yes it is new in any context I'm familiar with. The only sport I've any interest in is cricket and it isnt used there. I've been hgoing to festivals for more than 30 years and it's new in that context

It comes from boxing afaik and I don't think it's that bad, makes perfect sense to be used in that way.

I dont like it because it suggests that everything else on the bill at a festival is in some way inferior to the "main bout"...and it simply isnt

but that's ok...it just means that you're one of the first against the wall come the revolution and my installation as benevolent dictator of the world
