I swear it used to have half decent line ups and it wasn't just a bloated Irish creamfields. I guess they think money is in dance music now.

Just checked it used to have pretty awesome line ups, 2011 was decent; Foo Fighters, Arctic Monkeys, Weezer, Coldplay, slash, Manics The strokes, Deadmau5, JEW, Friendly Fires, Primal Scream, Eels, miles Kane, metronomy.

Not the worlds best festival line up but a 1000 times better than 2013!

That 2011 line-up, for TITP anyway, was the best UK Festival line-up that summer.

I went way back in 2005 (back when the future looked bright for Razorlight and Kaiser Chiefs :P ) and it was very rock oriented. That is like a TrueLAD.com user's wet dream right there.

I think even Oxegen 11 looks terrible but theres no doubt they did wonders getting those bands to play lower then headline. But to me, T and Oxegen are too messed up in aiming for a certain market, and I like this years reading lineup

Good lord, Oxegen this year is just on a whole new level of bad, isn't it? That is an incredible fall from grace from that 2011 lineup.

If Reading being constantly good but not outstanding means it never sinks to that level then it's a brilliant trade-off, frankly. Give me MCR/Strokes/Muse standard of headliners every year any day!

Dance music is popular at the moment and i guess Oxygen is just cashing in on that. Some of the acts I would go see, and I dont think Daft Punk would look out of place with all the people they have. Its all just down to personal preference ad the fact its not on T in the park weekend anymore must have something to do with it im guessing

Oxegen always had a strong line-up commercially but struggles to sell tickets and had crime issues, so took a break last year and came back with thias different approach. It looks shit, but if it sells them more tickets than the 'good' line-ups were then they'll be happy.
