Yeah, because Bloc Party are nowhere near the size of Alt-J or Phoenix. Be realistic, Bloc Party may not have the popularity to sub the festival anymore, but the fact is they'd ram the NME tent, and they'd be the biggest headliner of that stage in a long time.

gotta be a shout for Other Stage headers?

clearly not playing Pyramid Friday, Sat is doubtful and I don't see it Sunday.

You have C&S, Plan B, Example and The Vaccines that could take up 2nd's and 3rd's those day's.

Think them and Weller would please people

Ok time to defend because I can see why that came out like that. What I meant was, they aren't playing this year in those spots, they aren't new or in the current scene like the nme headliners this year which is what they booked. What i meant was maybe bloc party stated they wanted to play reading after these acts were booked, and were given the option to headline a tent at night, which they may have appreciated!

I literally didn't even mean what I said about them not being big enough to play the nme tent, I don't know where that came from and I apologise!

Can't argue with that. Would be expecting bands from higher up than 8th NME to be returning though. Maybe I just have high expectations, we'll see.

Just to compare, 2012 got Enter Shikari, Crystal Castles, Two Door, Joy Formidable, Vaccines, BBC, Metronomy, The View, The Blackout and PABH from 2011. 10 bands, and most ended up getting pretty high slots.

Yeah massive crowds was the major thing.

I loved them back in the Vivarium days. Saw them in tiny venues in Cardiff loads but didnt like the album... until I saw them at Reading and thought they absolutely nailed it. Think they will sound huge on main.

    • Regarding PinkPantheress: I watched the ending of The Cure from the back and then bolted straight to Cupra to save spots on the steps for my entire festival crew. Thus, we all had a good experience there. Sucks that not everybody got to properly see it, but it felt like something out of Glastonbury where those who showed up long in advance got to see a big artist on a smaller stage in good conditions.
    • Cracking debut album earlier this year
    • TOP 10 acts (top 5 in bold😞   Blood Orange (ciutat)   Guitarricadelafuente   Oklou - Looks like I'm capable of enjoying music in the rain after all, just not the whole night.   Rilo Kiley   The Cure   Jade   Depresión Sonora   Gelli Haha (Parc del Forum) - Her music never really clicked with me. Until I saw her live.   MARINA   Six Sex (ciutat) - I was shocked how supersmall the venue was and that almost everyone (except for me) knew every word of every song (including the ones that were released this weekend!).   Honorable mention:   Ashnikko - missed the first 15 minutes (because of Gelli Haha) and I'm not really a fan of her music, but the show was an absolute blast.
    • Totally agree about PinkPantheress stage choice. 'Luckily' for me, one of my main targets, fakemink, was absolutely awful, meaning that I left early and was in a surprisingly good spot at Cupra before it got totally packed.
