Twin Atlantic went through a phase where they were unsure of their size but they nailed their NME slot and think they'll do a great job on mainstage.

Hadouken. fuck. We stayed after FOTL because we had nothing better to do and I quite like Get Smashed, Gate Crash. It was absolutley mental. The band were terrible, but I've never seen the NME stage so packed and they all seemed to be loving it.

What are the chances of:

Sum 41 - Lock Up headliner perhaps?

Vampire Weekend - similar placing to 2010?

Babyshambles (They put something about rehearsals on twitter and there's been speculation of a reunion)

Enter Shikari (Yes, for a 6th year running. Preferably in a tent.)

Jamie T.

Any out of the 5 would complete this already pretty awesome line up in my opinion!

Enter Shikari have a decent Download slot and probably would have been announced already, so unlikely

Think Sum 41 could get a low main stage slot, if they were to announce a few more acts higher up main, Vampire Weekend would be a maybe too

Babyshambles probably not

As much as I'd love to see Jamie T there, doubt that too

Having looked at the tour dates of each artist announced, out of the 53 acts...

46 have dates this Summer, raging from June to September.

35 have dates in August.

11 have dates over the R&L weekend.

Perhaps if we'd taken the actual touring plans of acts into account, we'd have been less disappointed on the whole? For instance, Placebo and Soundgarden were never likely, as they had no dates announced, yet people still thought they'd play. Also Yeah Yeah Yeahs seem to only be playing earlier festivals, and lots of people were surprised not to see them on the lineup.

Just thought I'd share these thoughst with y'all.

Although it's probably the most sensible thing when considering who will play a festival, most people can't be bothered to look at the tour dates of all potential bookings and will always just rely on pure optimism (which is always gonna lead to disappoint).

I've seen four R+L announcements now while i've used these forums and people are never happy.

Trying to get into Chase & Status again... didn't like them when I checked them out after they were announced for Download last year, but I'm giving them another chance and they're actually sounding better to me now.

Green Day

System Of A Down

Deftones

Frank Turner

Bring Me The Horizon

New Found Glory

Eminem

Chase & Status

Brand New

Twin Atlantic

Biffy Clyro

Nine Inch Nails

Fall Out Boy

City & Colour

Plus The Blackout and While She Sleeps, not bad at all. Three headliners, three subs, lots of the big names... can't complain. Hopefully we'll get some decent undercard additions too, but I'd have to consider them icing on the cake at this point really.
