The Vaccines' first album is really good, second one's not bad although certainly not up to the same standard.

Palma Violets sound like The Vaccines without the songs. Their first single was pretty good but everything else I've heard just sounds bland.

Alt-J's album is decent but not nearly enough to justify all the hype.

Still think its extreme that people hate any of them so much though. As has been pointed out, they've just been lucky enough to ride on hype and press coverage which any band would be happy to receive.

On Killswitch Engage they could always do main... they are about as big (maybe slightly more popular and reunion with original vocalist has to provide interest) as when they played last time and were about second on main then. Think maybe a slight push up and we could have a Friday like:

Green Day

System of a Down

Deftones

Frank Turner

Bring Me The Horizon

New Found Glory

Killswitch Engage

Tomahawk

While She Sleeps

Looks a good main to me. Nice mix of sounds while still giving a fairly traditional heavy day for main.

I reckon NFG could go one lower than that... they were only seventh in 2011, and haven't exactly gotten bigger since then. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd have thought KSE would be above them anyway. Maybe also have Tomahawk headline FR and have The Blackout in their place on main?

Looks like a good guess though, I'd be very happy with the Friday ending up like that.

Reckon The Blackout are gonna do main but was going to have them and Mallory Knox in opening two slots on Sunday... Reckon Tomahawk headlining FR against Eminem would be good. Maybe Alkaline Trio in that spot on Friday instead? Then they can do a double slot on main and lockup.

Ps reckon only reason NFG could end up higher than last time is playing the album in full thing... makes it a bit more of a special set.

Sounds good although would guess maybe third from top Lockup like Frank did. Similar position on main to him (well same if they drop a slot) and that way they will clash with SOAD rather than Green Day (really dont see them clashing with Green Day). Well if they drop a slot can see Billy Talent going above on main. So maybe:

Green Day

System of a Down

Deftones

Frank Turner

Bring Me The Horizon

Billy Talent

New Found Glory

Killswitch Engage

While She Sleeps

Would be ridiculously good for me... def wouldnt leave main from Billy Talent onwards and would consider checking out everyone below.

Frank's was a secret set when he played 3rd.

Nfg would headline lock up if doing double duty, unless it was another secret set/special guests.

Also, now lock up is 3 days, one of the lock up type bands is going to have to clash with green day so that line of thinking is no longer valid like it was in past years :)

Loads of different Lockup bands who would be more appropriate against Green Day. NFG are possibly one of the worst choices to clash with them for a lot of people and don't think they need to headline Lockup if they have a decent mainstage slot. Last time they played Lockup it was solely the Lockup. Plus we seem to get special guests/secret slots on Lockup quite alot.

    • If Werchter pulled in Blink and Foos plus like Sabrina if she's touring and got System if they are I'd be more inclined to try it vs RIP if they got Blink, Foos and System. I don't at the moment, maybe reflection will be different, think that RIP is greatly setup for overseas travelling over. It feels more like currently day festival days with a camping over separate rather than hotel as its included.
    • I think many US people are fed up with the US and have definitely discovered how amazing it is to come to Barcelona for a better experience and way cheaper than back home.   Surely PS doesnt set up a huge commercial festival only to not put in place a system where QR codes can’t be re-used?
    • They'll get Foo Fighters as well.
    • That as a surprise along with The Cure is the best part of the lineup so far.   Probably means though she's about next year again.
    • I also dont think Deftones will tour next year.   But I think RIP will have both Foos and Blink and if SOAD fo festivals that will be your 3.
