Sorry to throw conversation off. But I had to ask somewhere. I attended OXEGEN festival last year, was planning to do glasto and that again. But i've been searching and it's like the festival doesn't even exist/ever did exist? Has it been cancelled or something? Or are organisers keeping things secret for a while.

Muse were never rumoured. Guess too soon.

Personally think it will be:

Arctic Monkeys

Dizzee Rascal

The Rolling Stones

Suppose other possibilities out there, Radiohead (personally think this is who it will be if Stones don't play), Mumford and Sons, KOL (they are in the country at the time).

Obviously there are 100'a more acts that could, but IMO it will be from those 6.

They won't be turning to back ups yet.

And none of those explain why he's not been announced elsewhere.

I'd argue the maybes are for you. Why would an act who's never headlined a major festival, with nothing to promote, who has a history of playing tens of fests every summer but has not been announced for any yet, be booked to headline?

That still doesn't explain why he hasn't been announced elsewhere? Unless of course Glastonbury have paid a ridiculous amount to get him on a worldwide exclusive, which would be a really really funny yet sad state of affairs.

I appreciate its just your opinion, but there's literally nothing to link him to doing it.

Given what the Stones have (If you believe the speculation) been offered £1 million I dont think this would be the case

    • I was following up to pink_triangle's post about what Reform are saying they will do to find money for defence spending.   But with Labour, they may well water down or delay some of the net zero commitments, they may find ways to cut welfare spending with Pat McFadden's welfare review thing, but I don't think it's going to be near enough. They really tied themselves down with the tax commitments in their manifesto, just reversing Hunt's NI cuts would have gone a long way. Under Burnham I think they may try and reform some of the tax system, land taxes and levies etc. Certainly needs reforming. But that might all be after a general election if Labour were to win.  I reckon they will try and do something with fiscal rules to borrow more, and try and persuade markets to go along with them.  (and he's already rowed back on that waspi thing...I think his team and others in Labour had a word).
    • Feels like Leeds getting axed is just a matter of time now, and to be honest, it might be the only way to save Reading. The whole twin-site format just feels proper dated and way too expensive to run nowadays. If they scrapped Leeds and focused entirely on Reading, turning it into a proper London-adjacent day-trip fest for the younger crowd like All Points East or Wireless, it would actually make sense financially. But yeah, for the old-school rock crowd, the R&L era is completely dead and buried.
    • Its the obvious  place to find savings but will Ed Miliband play along? Will Labour MP's finally accept benefits cuts? This is as damaging for Reeves as for Starmer. Its hard to see how either survives. Meanwhile Burnham is bringing up WASPI when there is no chance they'll get anything. He'll have to say something about funding defence.
    • Yeah, I managed 2 at once last year but the setup meant 1 per purchase, my partner had to do her one separately using her code   14th Primavera, bring it on!
    • I’m heading to this but need to leave on the Sat. Does anyone have any experience of getting back to the train station without the shuttle bus running? Seems like it might be tricky
