Surely the Stones have to be nailed on, if not I would take either Fleetwood Mac or Prince (although he has been bitching Glastonbury recently) that would be Sunday taken care of. I just can not see it being Radiohead think it will be one of Muse/Arctics/Arcade Fire/Kasabian. Sandwiched in the middle it's going to be a more pop type act and I can only see it being GaGa ... Which to be honest wouldn't be that bad !!!

And re the whole Frank Turner argument I can not see where all this negativity towards him has come from?? Seen him live a couple of times now and never fails to deliver, think he will be fairly high up on the Other stage and rightly so !!

Id love to see headliners who aren't business people. U2 aren't a band anymore. Just a front for a company, as is Beyonce, Jay-Z etc, Lady Gaga and a lot of the people being mentioned in this thread.

Where the fuck are all the musicians? I thought I was paying to see a gig?!

Shes one of the very very worst. Theres always been money making pop, but this new thing about releasing perfumes and clothes and dildos and strap ons and the like (not sure if the last two exist on second thought) is as vulgar as it gets.

What it means is that the "music" these "artists" release is basically a jingle for their brand/company. Fucking useless.

Its like going to see Ronald McDonald whistle the Mickey D's "Lovin it" jingle.

I completely diagree. Who are you to say that she doesn't enjoy making music and see it as her own way of creating art? Just because it's pop music and she's exploiting her popularity by launching other products, doesn't mean she's simply making music for that reason. Furthermore, I'll assume you'll include your beloved Rolling Stones in this list of musicians?

I think he's probably talking about the whole saturation of it all.

Maybe the fact that Beyonce's management sit down and choose a target audience, then they get people to write songs that will sell to that target audience, and no surprises, that audience falls for it hip, line and sinker. It's an absolutely disgusting way to go about being an artist. Making music solely for the purpose of making cash. Anyone involved in that side of the industry, including the artist herself, has no soul at all, and they take out everything that being a musician should be about.
