arcade fire before u2 on the friday

Well we've had some terrible clashes over the years but u2/arcade fire would be the worst ever although as much as i love arcade fire it would have to be u2 on the pyramid stage as it could be one of the best Glasto shows of all time.

To be honest Arcade Fire weren't that great in 2007 although that was mainly due to the awful sound that year and i think it would be amazing to see them as the sun sets before u2 and i think they would be the only band in the world that Arcade Fire would/should sub for so i've got my fingers crossed for a night like Flaming Lips/Radiohead in 2003 :)

To be fair, nobody in either band is a virtuoso on their instrument...Edge qualifies as a "great" guitarist because he's defined a sound, even if what he does isn't that technically demanding. Suggesting that Regine is a better musician than Edge is silly though, she's awful at most of the things she plays (and, gasp, sings out of tune regularly!). She's even worse than Meg White on the drums, but, like Meg, she fits the band she plays in...Live, Win has improved immeasurably on this tour, keeping the intensity of earlier performances, but a lot more polished...anyway, back on topic, Arcade Fire before U2 would be perfect as I could see both, but I fear Other stage headliners looms for AF if they even play....

It does appear that everyone in the world seems to now love Arcade Fire except me, though I do hope Arcade Fire are not on at the same time as U2 as I know lots of people would like to see both and there is less chance of a bad clash for people if Arcade Fire play before U2.

Even though I'm not a big fan myself, I do hope they are playing as lots of people love them.

I do think it could be a bad year for clashes.

People slating The Edges guitaring do make me laugh. Playing through echo and delay like he does is incredibly difficult to do WELL as any mistake gets repeated. Whilst he's nop Steve Vai, what he does is very tricky to pull off faultlessly.

For crowd control reasons there is next to zero chance of AF being on before U2. You risk having a crowd of 100K+ in that field for 4 hours. This will never happen folks, im sorry!

The festival has to guarantee a certain level of "churn" before a headliner of U2's size aswell.

To the person who said Tiny Tempah on before U2 - you're not far off chief. Lots of examples of the scheduling choices used to limit overall crowd size/crowd build in the past. Fest put BEP on before Macca for example.

It's too big a risk to have AF->U2 on sequentially. Won't happen.

I realize that it doesn't necessarily mean anything, but AF is opening for U2 in late July in eastern Canada.

While it would certainly create a huge crowd at Pyramid if they were both there, you would have a large number of people disappointed if they were on different stages on the same night. Like myself for example. I would love to see Arcade Fire, as I never have before. But I'm a big U2 fan, and I would hate to miss seeing them play the Pyramid stage for the first time.
