What to do in 2012?

As I live near Chagford in Devon I might try Chagstock which is a small local festival. I do not think they have ant big names but I have heard its a good atmosphere. Anybody been?

I think it's time to try a European festival so I have persuaded our usual glasto crowd to Benicassim, and I will probably give another British festival a go (either Bestival or Cropredy).

My plan is to do Snowbombing in Austria 2nd week in April, fly back to england then fly out the next day to Coachella. Not a bad way to spend April then later do Dot to Dot, 2000 trees and possibly Y-Not as i normally do.

2012 will probably be the 1st year am going to take the kids (who'll be 5 and 3 at the time) so will probably go to a more family geared one- thinking maybe Camp Bestival or Solfest.

Then looking at doing our 1st family Glasto in 2013

I'll hopefully be making my way down to Indonesia after time in Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. It seems so far away

Ideally I'm going to go on a summer holiday that'll incorporate a festival. Optimus Alive! in Portugal or something in Spain that's not Beni, maybe Primavera Sound perhaps. Probably try and go to Solfest too.

I'll be trying to catch as much of the Olympic Games as possible!

Also might do a "family" festival with my sister and her family (her girls will be 7 and 5).

I've started going to Primavera (last year and this year is all booked) so probably that again as Barcelona is an amazing city, the festival is brilliant and it also cuts costs because it means I don't have to go to ATP.

So maybe go to a UK based one - have long wanted to go to End of the Road and Green Man

I will be on a short work consignment to India at end of June 2012 which is a total bloody excellent coincidence!!!

Bestival, Camp Bestival (with kids) or IOW. All local to me. But also planning our own mini-fest. My friend has a milestone birthday on 29 June, so a great excuse to bring on local bands, cider, hog roast & a mud pit. we think. Our wellies need their annual outing, or they'll die of loneliness We'll even charge a small fee in aid of charity

Me & Bob (fellow Glastonaut) were talking of going to Bearded Theory with out sprogs as a test run at festivalling with kids as we both realise that taking them to Glasto is only a matter of time....

I'm planning on going to Brazil for Carnival in Feb 2012. If I have any money left, I want to do Sonar again in Barcelona, it's the week before before Glasto normally, and I can't do both together.

I'll be getting married June 2012. We chose the date (21st) cos we knew glasto wont be happening and theres nothing better to do that time of year :b

Anyway - 2012 will see us looking for a festival that won't scare the shit out of a pre-traumatised child! Any child adopted by us will need to be ready for Glasto 2013 - it's in our criteria!
