I've had this week off work, been doing some home improvements.  Today I was sorting through old boxes of stored stuff to go to the tip and came across a Glastonbury 2000 T-shirt that has been lost for over a decade, still in mint condition.  Really chuffed to add that back into my wardrobe.

There is definitely a serious hardware problem with my PC. It crashed on Saturday and I haven't got it working since, but it crashed again today while I was doing at fresh format - reinstall of windows, and now it won't even boot to the bios menu.

It is however, still turning on to some degree. Hopefully it's something cheap like the power supply or fans but I suspect my ssd or maybe even my motherboard. :(

Well it was the motherboard, but it's one RAM port, and I think I can survive fine on 12GB of RAM :D

Good on you. Where are you off to?

Cheers! I'll be in Dublin. Staying at a friend's (in Raheny I think?) until the Sunday.

Really looking forward to it. I've been before but that was Christmas (18 years ago :|) so I'm curious what Dublin's like on St. Patrick's day...

Its a mess!

Some good stuff going on in Dublin at the moment. The 1916 stuff. Maybe have a look at that.

I'm sure Jakie C would have found a way. "You ever eaten White Pudding or drunk a Guiness? Yeah, you'll do."

To quote Mick McCarthy, "Ar am an undred per cent aarish!"

I once had a full irish breakfast with white pudding in a pub in Ireland ... on the one and only day I've spent in that country. Does that count? :D

Are they the fellas whose main (only?) policy is the relaxing of the drink drive laws?

Thats one of them yeah. Kerry is quite far removed so its all local politics really. Standard stuff, health, roads, farming, closing night clubs earlier, no to gay marriage, go to mass etc.

No one parodies the irish better than the irish themselves :P

Nah the Americans do it fairly well. Leprechauns, "Sláinte", "Top O' the Mornin' to Ya" etc.

But yeah, we don't help ourselves with some of the Paddywhackery about.

Saw some guinness flags other day advertising "St Patrick's weekend." The marketing behind all that really fucks me off. It's clever, and they're on to a winner, but why the fuck are people stupid enough to fall for it. 10 years ago it was hardly celebrated over here - and now there's a full weekend (wouldn't be as bad if 17th was a Fri or Sat but it's a feckin' Thursday).

Paddy's day in Ireland is ace. Over here, I refuse to participate. Don't like Guinness. Am not in Ireland. Feck off! And I'd qualify to play football for Ireland (although, who wouldn't, I suppose).

As bad as the yanks forcing Black Friday onto us, you lot are!

Ha!

I used to love it at Uni, as it was basically an excuse for an all day and night drinking session. I think it was about the only time you had students actively coming in for 9am lectures so they could their drink on early

Yeah because five year olds just love a City break to ##insert random city## :D

And its Disneyland, simpleton :D

Disneyland Paris if you want to be pedantic, as Disneyland on its own normally refers to Anaheim =p
