Who's watching what on tv

So Warner Bros/DC Comics are just going to try and copy everything Disney/Marvel from now on? :P (I suppose in the past, it may have happened the other way around so you know..)

Nah, it's Fox/DC that are coping from Marvel this time.

This is their 3rd attempt to get a Batseries on TV in recent years, there was Gotham Central (which sounds a lot like the show they are gonna do now), Bruce Wayne and The Garysons (the last 2 being Smallville type shows) but they kepting pulling the plug as Nolan didn't want another live action Batman incase it confused the audience.

Really enjoyed Agents of Shield tonight.

Same. Some decent hints of characterisation showing, nice references to the films of the MCU but without being too invested in that. Good to see a nice mix of familiar faces from Whedon shows along with new ones. Some cool fight scenes, cool bits of shiny gadgetry and good effects. Witty humour without being too forced or overshadowing.

Really quite hopeful for this show. Very promising pilot.

I was very impressed with the easy explanation for Agent Coulson being an initially simple faked death only apparent to high clearance levels, but leaving hints that there's something more to it (Hill's comment re. him not knowing about Tahiti). Bodes well.

Hadn't even realised it was on tonight until I saw it trending on twitter. Hardly ever watch TV when it goes on air (well, on +1, but the day it does). Glad I did.

anyone watch The IT Crowd last night? Haven't seen it yet, hope it was a belter.

Homeland is back tomorrow night for the "international leechers", next Sunday for the brit TV crowd.

Then its 2 weeks for the new Walking Dead.

By all accounts the last Dexter was shite? I didnt even bother with it. The wife said, "you wont like it" and I told her to give me the details - and yup- If I had watched it, I would probably have been shaking my head at the telly.

not seen this weeks yet, gonna be tuesday before we can watch it unfortunately. it seems very fraught so far.

disappointed if IT Crowd wasnt great, surprised with Linehan, his output is usually tip top.

or were you referring to dexter not being great?

The IT crowd was brilliant, such a shame it was just a one off though, would have loved another series.

Anyone been watching low winter sun? Watched the first episode last night and really enjoyed it, great pilot episode

Watched the IT Crowd yesterday and didn't think that much to it.Loved every series but just thought as a stand alone final episode it didn't really have much bang.If that had been the last episode of a series fair enough but as a stand alone bow out I was disappointed.

Low Winter Sun is looking really good - nice to see another couple of great Brit actors taking up lead roles.

A bit late to the party, but have just started getting into Game of Thrones. Watched the first episode when it first came out and mustn't have been paying proper attention - going through the re-runs on Sky Atlantic - 2 episodes a week - and loving it.

The Psysho prequel series isn't too bad either - Bates Motel - needs a few more episodes to fully convince me.

Do people know that Low Winter Sun is a remake of a TV movie from about 10 years ago? It also starred Mark Strong in the lead role.

I note lots of people are avoiding the Breaking Bad thread - for obvious reasons. We are having a "Finale Party" this afty, we were originally going to be meetng up with friends for a chat and a beer and a catch up, but I told them I wasnt going out until we had watched BB, it then snowballed into "lets all watch it before we go out".

I am so looking forward to this!!!

Yeah, there's a few websites I'm avoiding til later this evening. Basically anything news or entertainment. I reckon most would be careful on their home pages, but not taking the risk

It was a great way to end it, nothing to special to mark it being the end but it was a nice way to wrap everything up. Made me sad there isn't another series, but in other ways I'm glad they stopped there and haven't let it drag on past its sell by date.

Thought Agents of S.H.E.I..L.D was decent, nice references back to the movies and the little one line jokes seem to have come over to. Bit slow in places, but I think thats just where they had to get everyone together.

I really do hope there is a bit more of an explanation for Agent Coulson, hinted at it but they could just leave it there and never touch it again

:P

Also I've seen complaints about flying Lola, but I quite liked that :P

I thoroughly agree, I thought they got the humour spot on, the references (both self and external) well-balanced, but there's probably not a huge degree of source material to avoid it getting stale.

Agents of SHIELD was good, showed promise, it's a pilot, so I'm hoping they do subtle serial character development in later episodes, but there was never going to be anything truly fantastic from the off.

I thought the hints about Tahiti were excellent. I liked that it was dual-layered, with a quick simple one but the suggestion of something more. If they don't develop it I'll be appalled, but I expect they will.

And yeah, I thought flying Lola was cool, it fits into the setting and characters. It's not pretending that it's not cheesy.

he really doesn't have any idea does he?

suggests there'll be more here. Liked all the references - littered across the Marvel universe, how long til Stan Lee's cameo?

Yeah, that line was what really made me hopeful. I imagine I missed a fair whack of references, but liked the ones I got. Definitely optimistic.

I just finished Dexter today and seem to share the opinion of most people on here. A (once) great show has just become so boring and gone on for a few seasons too long. I wouldn't say I disliked it, but I just found it very very dull.

To me Dexter was only as good as his nemesis and it says it all than 10 minutes after finishing the episode, I couldnt even remember his name. The nemesis was dull, his romantic interest was dull and they lacked any chemistry. New characters like Vogel and Elway showed promise but went absolutely nowhere. A very underwhelming seasons and final episode.
