Could you point me in the direction of some "Kamaal Williams Ensemble" stuff? I have an instinct its for me but struggling to discover much content for this one.

Originally it was a duo called Yussef Kamaal (but they played with other members live so idk) but they split so now it's just Kamaal Williams playing the music with a new drummer, I think. The album was called Black Focus. I'm not really into jazz at all on record but I started listening expecting something else and quite enjoyed it.

At present it's:

Friday - Pretenders, Black Honey, First Aid Kit, *, Royal Blood, Elbow, Radiohead

Saturday - Bootleg Beatles, British Sea Power, Thundercat, Run The Jewels, Katy Perry**, The Avalanches,*** Solange, Foo Fighters

Sunday - Cassetboy/DJ Rubbish, Rag'n'Bone Man, Barry Gibb, Chic, Goldfrapp, Emeli Sande, The Sheerantor****

* Might wander up to Mark Lanegan if I can be bothered.

** Might catch the first 20 mins or so of Liam G before going over to Perry.

*** Decided to sack off The National as I'm seeing them in September.

**** Mrs Jass has selected the final two acts on Sunday evening.

Cheers mate

Just had a listen. As you say, could struggle with this on record, but live, on a sunny day, could work a treat.

Current plans are:

Friday: Hacienda Classical, Horse of Lords Reform talk by Jenny Jones, Ross from Friends, Future Islands, Bicep, Blawan, Shed

Saturday: Thundercat (or the Prof Nutt talk), Factory Floor, Mik Artistik

Sunday: The Smyths, Barry Gibb, Forest Swords, Moderat

I'm ignoring the maybes, which will inevitably be forgotten, and there's a few other things I need to add like a dance class and a Bruce Airhead. I'm probably forgetting someone.

I haven't and I've been wondering the same.  I've got no idea if it's just going to be a DJ set of other peoples stuff or if we're going to get some classic Mylo.  Figured I would give it a go in the hope of some of the latter!

I might start a thread about Mylo actually. I'm a bit gutted as all my friends are busy when he's doing a set

What I would choose if I had boundless energy, the weather was ok and was going solo ;

Thu
- Glade (Orb stuff)
- Spike - The Egg

Fri
- Other - Pretenders/Chari XcX
- Glade - The Correspondants
- Croissant Neuf - Alabama 3 (acoustic)
- Park - Sleaford Mods/Flaming Lips
- Blues - Mylo

Sat
- Williams Green - Speak & Spell
- Park - Moonlandingz
- Pyramid - Run The Jewels
- Williams Green - King Giz
- West Holts - Avalanches
- Other - Stormzy
- John Peel - Phoenix
- Pilton Palace - Singalonga Rocky Horror

Sun
- Other - Slaves
- John Peel - King Giz/Frank Carter
- Pyramid - Chic
- Williams Green - Jagwar Ma
- West Holts - Justice

I'm not going solo and do not have boundless energy so will maybe make half of that.

There is a lot I would see, but , but I only have a few must sees all weekend.... 2 of which are Radiohead and the Flaming Lips (which clash)

So I've decided my only must sees are (1 a day)

The flaming Lips

Katy Perry

Barry Gibb

Friday evening has a 3 way clash of Future Islands, Anderson.Paak and Sophie Ellis Bextor.

My "Plan" at the moment very much subject to change and there is big gaps in Saturday and sunday.......

Fri:

Hacienda - Hot 8 Brass Band - Craig Charles Funk and Soul - Royal Blood - Anderson.Paak / Future Islands - Sleaford Mods - Flaming Lips - Jackmaster - Boiz Noise / A guy called Gerald / Blaawan (The only problem with that day is that I have seen Craig Charles, Royal Blood, Future Islands and the Sleaford mods... all at Glastonbury)

Sat:

Bootleg Beatles - Jools Holland - Cabbage - Katy Perry - Sasha and Digweed / The Jacksons - Layo + Bushwaka

Sunday:

King Gizzard - Barry Gibb - Chic - Goldfrapp - Justice

My sunday is pretty barren, Goldfrapp I am not that bothered about seeing, it's just someone to see as I have a massive gap between Chic and Justice.
