The organisation is very imperfect but for some things I can see their thinking and I'm very glad they learned from the disaster queues of 2022 for Ciutat. Often it's a case of finding the 'least bad' option.

This was the main example I had in mind actually! I never understand the outrage at this. People also get pissed off that they can't attend a gig that they didn't even know existed when they bought the tickets.

 

I get being disappointed by some of these things, don't get me wrong, same as being disappointed by 2 artists you like clashing. But a lot of people genuinely act like they've been robbed. Bizarre.

Also, the people complaining (mostly, I assume, people who attend for the first time) are missing what is for me a precious point: the festival being a bit messy is part of the fun and what makes it special.

There is a learning curve. First-time goers will never bother check the website or socials, they will miss the sale for the extra gigs, they will learn about the Opening Day just 24 hours before show time. But if you're willing to engage a bit and pay attention, then you'll get the rewards (well, most of them).

But that makes for a much more interesting festival than another one with no surprises, no bonuses, nothing extra, just a fixed line-up releasing 6 months prior and nothing added.

The Geese tickets were available for around 3-4 minutes in the general sale, so if you were reasonably organised, I think you would have been ok.

Should clarify that I was referring to the Fever public general sale at 12:00 CET.

question about the bars situation - last time i went was 2023 and it was easy as pie getting drinks from the bars. i've heard reports that the situation is worse than that now in recent years?

Nah, it's fine. Just was bad in 2022. Trick is to be strategic and find the ones with no queue of which there are many.

Went in 2016 and it was awful. I just didn't bother drinking. Went again last year and was fine. Seems to have improved a lot better.

Let's say this is true and they sold an extra 200 allocation compared to normal. That only generates 7k euros and moreoever also has to be shared (previously was all of it!) with the venue.

 

And the budget for Primavera is more than 10million so it would be loose change really...

Most of the people who wanted to go to Ciutat gigs just don't want to pay any extra non-refundable money, the festival itself is pretty expensive. For me personally it's the first time I bought Ciutat tickets.

First post to this forum after reading along for quite a while. Will be the 3rd time for 'my group' that we travel to Primavera. We have one guy in the group that forgot to buy a ticket for the opening day. Seems the waiting list option is not available for this event in AT (as it is non-refundable). I was wondering if anyone has any idea how we can get our hands on an extra ticket?? I do not believe that in any of the prior years the opening day was sold out so we've also no experience if any tickets will be made available at location...........

the last 2 years it was fine (you could generally get your drinks within 5 minutes). Only the opening day requires some patience as only the bars in the proximity of the Amazon stage (now Occident) are open. I never understood that, i am sure they would make much more money if they open a few more (for example the bars next to Cupra)

I was giving away a ticket in this topic a couple of years ago 🙂 I'm pretty sure anyone who really needs it will get in anyway, just monitor efests/reddit and the festival entrance

Thx aaalive, yes that was our thinking as well that we would ‘husle’ one extra ticket one way or another at the entrance. Either way would there be someone here with an extra ticket we would gladly take it over!!
