  1. thanks Alice, that's reassuring 🙂
  2. I did pre-order Midnights and haven't had an email with any code 😭
  3. errrrm, so how was the rest of the festival?? I got serious FOMO this weekend.....
  4. Honestly such a pathetic post. The whole festival isn't just for you
  5. The 'price hike' of 50 euros isn't so bad when you appreciate that 2 years were missed. That's 2 years of rising inflation, costs of materials/services that they weren't able to adjust for because they'd sold tickets at 2020 prices.
  6. I guess this wouldn't take into account profits made on merch, bars, etc. Plus there'll be deals made with councils on the proviso that XX thousand people will be spending money in the city too. Maybe. I dunno. This is why I don't run festivals.
  7. I mean absolutely no disrespect but those acts you've listened are all 80s and 90s acts with the exception of RTJ, though both members were making music in the early 00s at least. It'd probably be more weird if you liked Drake, J Cole, A$AP Rocky, Denzel Curry, Megan Thee Stallion, Vince Staples, etc but not Kendrick I suppose?
  8. Ok, I'll pluck a wishlist out of thin air, why not 😄 NIN, Portishead, Pharrell Williams, Kdot, Frank Ocean, Grimes, Doja Cat, FKA Twigs, Denzel Curry, Max Cooper, David Byrne, Flume, Empress Of, Jockstrap, Alex G, Paramore Out of the thinnest, thinnest, air.. Ariana Grande Taylor Swift Even thinner air.. Kate Bush Tom Waits XTC Burial
  9. For those that did enjoy Primavera (music-wise at least), I have a favour to ask of you... I host a radio show called Deep Cuts on Sheffield Live radio, and I'm doing a Primavera special on Saturday (pre-recorded so I'm finishing it off tomorrow night). I'm after a few fake 'voicemails' (voice notes) from people as if they're leaving a message for Deep cuts... just a few words on Primavera, and a set you watched, ending with you requesting a song. BUT, the song has to be a 'deep cut' - so no Feel Good Inc from Gorillaz, or Earfquake from Tyler.. it has to be a 'album cut', i.e. something that wasn't a single. This rule can be broken if it's a smaller act who doesn't chart/get radio play. So i'd accept a Shellac single, just, for example. If you're willing, please send over a 30-60 second or so clip to deepcutsradio at gmail dot com by 8pm tomorrow and I'll include it in the show 🙂 Just talk about the show you watched and why you loved it, and why that particular song.
  10. Well that was a mad 12 days wasn't it? I had a really really good time for both weekends. Like.. imagine missing Pavement, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Phoenix, Nick Cave, Beck, Mogwai, MIA, DJ Shadow, Autechre, Disclosure, Megan Thee Stallion, Run the Jewels, Squarepusher, black midi, 100 gecs, DJ Coco, etc and STILL having the best time and not regretting anything I saw! What a festival. Here's a list of everyone I watched at least 15 minutes of. Verde Prato, Faye Webster, Aiko el Grupo, Kacey Musgraves, Charli XCX, Rina Sawayama, Let's Eat Grandma, Hannah Diamond, Weyes Blood, Tropical Fuck Storm, Wet Leg, Amaia, Little Simz, Warpaint, Caribou, Lorenzo Senni, Les Amazones D'Afrique, Low, Dreamcatcher, Slowthai, Caroline Polachek, Gorillaz, Tyler the Creator, Leon VynhalL Dave P, Dry Cleaning, Giles Peterson, Khruangbin, Slowdive, Big Thief, Metronomy, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Dua Lipa, Tyler the Creator, Bicep, Bad Boy Chiller Crew, Sampa the Great, TOPS, Stella Donnelly, Courtney Barnett, Lorde, The Strokes, The Smile, Nicola Cruz, Danny L Harle, Genesis Owusu, Renaldo y Clara, Arooj Aftab, Sky Ferreira, Fred Again, Angele, Jesse Ware, DJ Seinfeld. i tried to write my top 5, then top 10, then even top 20 but it's too difficult. Rayban/Cupra is my happy place though. I just love how everyone flocks there later on and there's such a good vibe and energy. The only real disappointment of the whole weekend was Bad Boy Chiller Crew though I didn't think they'd be much cop anyway, and we still had a good time. The Jesse Ware crowd last night was amazing, I was saying to my pals that I bet even her own gigs don't have that good a crowd. I'm genuinely sorry to those who had a rough time, whether with the crowds, COVID, lack of water etc. I've been hyping this festival up in my head since the last time I went (2017) and it exceeded all expectations for me. I'd go back in a heartbeat, though my pal has VERY SELFISHLY having a baby so I need to convince some new friends 😛
  11. I've managed to get trams, taxis, and the bus with no problem each time! The gods are truly shining on me 🙂
  12. That was absolutely class. Possibly better than any day last week? Khruangbin in the sun ahhhh, King Giz blew my mind, Slowdive the perfect chill, Big Thief were raucous, Dua Lipa is such a performer, Tyler better (for me, I was right in there) than last week, and Bicep absolutely went off. All classsss. BBCC was just a bit of fun really, but would have prefer 2manyDJs if I'm picking, but could probably do with the sit and stare on the stairs 😅 Saw a festival goer try and nick someone's hang bag which was reaaaaaaally uncool. Suppose it's easier to pickpocket in the fest than out. Edit: how did I forget Metronomy?! Wasn't a big fan of theirs prior, but the vibe down Binance was class..consider me finally a fan
  13. Bits is an even longer walk now lol (or did I go the wrong way)
  14. Clairo pulled out 😞 Did I read that Bleechers pulled out too?
  15. Food recs As @Zoo Music Girlsaid, the vegan mafe was really nice (and I'd say not overpriced for a festival but generally yes!) The vegan stand with pizzas were really nice. 5E a slice a great price price. The separate little cookie stall was amazing, those vegan banana cookies ❤️ Sorry to those that haven't enjoyed the festival much. I totally get it, but I had the most amazing time. I've barely spent time with the people I actually came with, either saw stuff alone or with other friends who were at the festival.
  16. Jockstrap at La Nua were incredible 👑
  17. Unlikely, but any intel on the Jockstrap gig at La Nau? Doors 7.50pm, first band 8.50pm. I'm wondering when to arrive
  18. What a fucking weekend! So many good sets, I don't think anyone I saw was disappointing. Now doing a proper "city break" with my partner before she flies back and I do weekend two... already can't wait!
  19. Same here, 10 minute queueing for Vueling bag drop (before it was technically open to do so) and less than 10 minutes through security. Now in the biggest queue of the day to get a pint 😏
  20. Is this the "classic stage names" one? If so I think he has? Unless there's more changes after the new additions? If so I need to print off the clashfinder again goddamnit!
  21. Nothing I'm too worried about about there - shame about Rapsody, but Joey Bada$$ and Let's Eat Grandma are great additions!
  22. Well now King Gizzard and Caribou clash, and Warpaint and Earl Sweatshirt! 😛
