Glasto 25 future headliner?

Feels like a rogue shout but if Blossoms have another cracking album and live show like they’ve just done with ‘Gary’ then they could be a potential headliner. Tight show, a good sing song and great alternative Glastonbury vibes.

they're great but no way they would ever be big enough. They still take below-headline slots at more mid-sized fests and are doing stuff like supporting Stereophonics this summer. Four albums in and that is not headliner trajectory. Gary was a success tho and they were great at woodsies.

Another shout for CMAT.

I only knew one of her songs beforehand  and went in with minimal expectation tbh, but it was my fave set of the whole weekend.

She’s everything you want in a rock star and if she has some more commercial success, then I’d love to see her get the nod one day.

I still think people are over estimating the ceiling for some of these guitar bands like wolf Alice ...just can't see them taking the next step ...maybe just maybe if they can't find anyone bigger and it all falls into place perfectly.

When was the last indie/rock band that actually made the leap ...I might be forgetting someone obvious ..just hard to do. I know foals are the running joke ..but I would put wolf Alice in the same bracket.

Bands just don't get to the Muse, Foo fighters, Arctic Monkeys size anymore

Out of this year's festival it would be a solo artist I imagine as they seem to make the leap easier than a band ..so Doechii or Gracie Abrams would be my shout.

If they can only 2/3rds fill the Other Stage this year WA are going to need some sort of career miracle before they headline the main event.

I accidentally saw the end of their set. Truly and astonishingly dreadful

Luckily for her, you’re not one of the bookers!

A whole field full of people and every single review of her show since say otherwise btw.

It was another case of WTF. Field emptied for the biggest legend on site all weekend, Burning Spear

Is someone a legend if hardly anyone on site would be able to pick him out of a line up?

(I really enjoyed his set.  Was in fine voice and the band were great - although a couple more big tracks from Marcus Garvey wouldn't have gone amiss)

Wolf Alice? CMAT? Wunderhorse?  Some of you guys still tripping from Sunday night it seems.

I love that we all have different views! For me any of these 3 could be future headliners in a few years. CMAT seems on a rapid upward trajectory, Wunderhorse great live and Wolf Alice were brilliant on Sunday and keep getting better. Depends where they all

are in 2-3 years but could happen. And all a better booking than some recent ones in terms of filling the Pyramid (looking at you SZA 👀)

I’d personally like to see the Other stage stop being this kind of arbitrary glass ceiling because of the kind of music, style of act, etc.

Charli could and arguably should have headlined this year. The Chems in the past as well (although I think I read they declined the offer?).

Westside Cowboy

Westside Cowboy were the biggest surprise for me all weekend.  Great musicians and a bunch of excellent tunes.  I had heard the few songs available online before the festival and thought they were really good, but seeing them live was kinda next level.  Really hope they make it.

It felt more than 2/3 full though I was on barrier so hard to tell. Just saw this photo tho that seems to show it was pretty full. Do think they are on course to headline in 3-4 years IMG_9844.thumb.jpeg.a4fac2f4c4997bdb1c46ebe5e23fa7a9.jpeg

Yeah the musicianship is much of the reason I’d back them to have a high ceiling.

I think a lot of bands coming through in the last decade maybe get half big before they get really good at their instruments/composing music. They get stuck ploughing the same furrow, all gets quite samey, one dimensional. This lot make interesting, layered tunes. We’ll see how the album hits when it’s released but I have high hopes.
