Which acts will "shut down" an area?

does it give data on the numbers that have filled it in ? must be fairly low at this stage .... kneecap I think will get a significant bounce thats not yet showing on there

No, it shows the percentage of people who have made selections that have selected that act. I think I them applies that to the size of the venue. So 40% of people picking a Pyramid act wouldn't show red, but 30% of people selecting a Park act would.

Which is all part of the problem with using it as a definitive predictor. At the moment, people could have 5 Saturday night headliners selected, as they've not yet made up their minds.

Charli will be super busy imo - i'm in my 40s and its between her/scissor sisters. Neil Young just doesnt appeal.

But there are people who think the other way, 3 people travelling down in my car and we're all going to Neil. The other 2 are in their 20s.

Charli will be very busy, probably the biggest crowd that night, I just think the talk of it being dangerous is over stretching it.

I’m a proper old git and I’m currently trying to decide between Charli and Doechii. NY doesn’t get a look in, although he would in his proper slot- Sunday afternoon

If the fest thought charli was that big they’d have got her headlining pyramid. Has anyone considered that?

as if they’d have needed a second invitation to get a British female headlining when they’ve made a big push for that to the extent of having SZA doing it to a crowd of 500 people.

I think most other years they would have, but thought that The 1975, Olivia and Charli would be a bit 'too' skewed towards the under 40s. Neil is a worthy headliner, I just think it's going to be tricky. Prodigy vs him would've been a better balance imo.

There's a huge difference between sinking £100 to see her at Victoria Park and deciding to go and see her set with a group of friends at a festival. Same thing will apply to some extent for Weezer, Alanis etc. It's the groups of people getting dressed up for a big night etc which will sway it from being a 50k crowd to a 70k one. That's also less likely to be the crowd filling out provisional clashfinders before official times are out.

I wouldn't exactly call myself 'young' now at 35, but every single person I know is planning to be at that set, from people who are really into their music to those more there for the experience.

It’ll be busy for sure. Hopefully means I can get up pretty close for NY.

I don't want to post them as it's info that's part of the paid for version so seems unfair on Halvin to share. You can get it by donating, though.

Did you have it last year? How accurate was it nearer the festival compared with what actually had big crowds?

Chances are you’ll be able to get to the front barrier no problem, no matter how late you turn up

Why does it have to be that 3 tho? 1975 were a replacement for sure , why not just slot in charli and have her NY and o rod?

Shes not headlining pyramid cause the fest doesn’t think she’s big enough to do so.

Maybe so but it hardly screams this person should have headlined or is going to shut down a big field.

A sample of you and your pals is irrelevant I’m afraid.

imo she’ll have a very good crowd, Neil young will have an okay one and the other stage will cope fine as it has done for every other headliner ever

Quick look through last year's and the following are in red:

LCD

Shania

Avril

Sugarbabes

Jamie XX

Barry Can't Swim

Scouting For Girls

Kate Nash

Beans on Toast at Bimble

Then I got bored checking, plus I have loads of stages hidden because I never go there.

Unsure if it’s been mentioned but think Red Rum Club in leftfield could be very very busy. Unsure of the capacity

never been in leftfield tent so unsure what it’s like but aiming to get there for RRC and Jamie Webster

I was at 6 of these.

Avril, Sugababes and Bazza were the only shut downs.

Avril got closed for certain access areas also I think

I was on shift for Avril and had to get from Other to Pyramid area and it was not easy. It was the only time I have seen people watching a set through the gaps in the hedge's on the railway line near the toilets. Crazy busy

And even then if you chipped up about 20 to 30 minutes before stage time you would have been absolutely fine.

For sure.

We arrived 45 mins pre Bazza and got a great spot.

Same for the Babes, had to leave Con Man a little early, unfortunately.

Take home point, if it’s someone you REALLY want to see, don’t arrive 6 seconds before they start.

They prepared for Barry Can't Swim being a lock down but actually it wasn't that bad.

Although I would say the one way system entry to the park was not done well. Given they made the entrance the one with the big toiet block next the Stone Bridge which was heaving for Alexis Taylor btb Jarvis Cocker. Created a massive block of people moving in different directions right at the only open entrance to the park. Maybe made it seem a lot worse.

Also Kasabian last year though that wasn’t on the list. Made the mistake of going just as they started (due to set before) and couldn’t get anywhere close enough to enjoy it or see anything. Woodsies was closed off at front and then they started to let people in through back, but it was rammed outside the tent.

We were at the front for Avril as had watched set before it, and had enough space. Not many people left after NBT so it was pretty calm in front of the barrier.

yeah, trying to get in to the mary wallopers afterwards was a nightmare - a good 45 mins bottlenecking through that tiny entrance.

Wouldn’t GFL be better off using the Vodaphone app to predict crowd numbers, rather than clashfinder?

I'd be surprised if they used either.

Any decisions on placement will be made long before the app is released or before Clashfinder is even vaguely accurate.

I think they had the right idea, but it was poorly executed.
