I can never understand the logic of those who‘ll try the first half of one act then walk to another stage to see the last bit of another act if they’re not feeling it. Surely just commit to the act of first choice, especially if they’re big?!

Nah, there's so much available to watch and do I don't get why you'd stay put for something you're not enjoying?

Presumably because when it comes to headliners, it’s hardly an experiment. It’s not 3pm and you’re seeing whether you enjoy someone. You’ll know well in advance.

Can work both ways. I've ended up drifting, which wasn't great, but also given a headliner a decent shot and then gone and had a blast elsewhere.

Why on earth would you stay to watch something you don't enjoy when you could go to something you might enjoy?

I’ve often done part sets of headliners and enjoyed seeing both sets.. 4 songs of Elton then off to Phoenix on Woodsies worked pretty well.  Half of Coldplay then off to Jessie Ware..  half a set of Arctic Monkeys and off somewhere else (forget where).

This time is harder as I’ve been into Charli for ages and never seen her live, open minded to staying put if I’m really loving it, but I would love to catch the end of Doechii.

Bit late to this, but yes. Forty-five minutes to headline one of the major stages at arguably the biggest music festival in the world does not square quite right. With no offence intended to the artist themselves, feels like a hype booking - but with a botched element to it.

Smack them with the same length as an Other sub, or even in that bizarrely truncated fourth-down Pyramid spot on the Friday, and there would be no eyebrows. This feels very... brief.

Maybe Doechii is doing half her set on the Pyramid in the TBA 35 min thing and the other half at the West Holts?

My theory is that due to her getting much bigger since being booked + the low pay at Glastonbury she’s basically negotiated her set length down.

Not sure about that. What's the point of flying in from the US just to give a half assed performance... and if that were the case they should have dropped her. Plenty of other artists out there who would happily fill that slot.

I never thought she'd have been able to fill a full hour and a half set. This is why booking her to headline WH was never a good idea. Should have put her like 4th down the Pyramid. Could have done a 45-60m set there and she'd have probably got more TV viewers too, win win.

Flying over for the same amount of money she was gonna get but having to do half the work? Sounds good to me. And she’d a big get for the festival and will split some of the crowd for Charli so I’m sure they didn’t want to lose her so just caved to her demands.

She's scheduled for an hour at Roskilde. She just doesn't have enough songs to play for particularly long

I really want to see her and was probably the headliner I was most looking forward to. However as I love a headliner at Glastonbury I just think the 45 minute set means I want to do something more substantial rather then have to go somewhere else afterwards (zero interest in the music of Charlie XCX). Going to have to rethink that evening now.

I was looking at it as its possible to catch all of Doechi - and then part of another headliner!  but my choice would be Carbou wh starts 30 mins before D ends -  but thats no short walk - so il probably zoom straight to the SE corner

    • Don Broco secret set.
    • Regarding PinkPantheress: I watched the ending of The Cure from the back and then bolted straight to Cupra to save spots on the steps for my entire festival crew. Thus, we all had a good experience there. Sucks that not everybody got to properly see it, but it felt like something out of Glastonbury where those who showed up long in advance got to see a big artist on a smaller stage in good conditions.
