If you bust out a Time Machine, lemme know and I’ll swing back to 73 for a Sabbath gig 👍 wouldn’t be too fussed by the 1970 Brazil team, but I would very much fancy the 1954 final, Hungary v East Germany! AND it was at the w*nkdorf stadium (waiting to see what the swear filter does to that)

Even a short haul Time Machine would do....saw Sabbath in 2016 (for about 90 odd quid) and they were still bloody fantastic (ok, not '70s, but still). I'd shell out this kind of money for Zeppelin though, even with Bonzo's young fella on the drums. No Time Machine required.

We managed to get 2 standing tickets, f/v coach package was £670 for the pair. It's a hell of a lot of money but we wouldn't miss it - as others have said it's basically Metal Live Aid.

For ridiculous price comparison, I've also been offered f/v Beyonce tickets today at £200 a pop - that was a REAL quick no.

I really wanted to go, but can’t justify the price tag with Glastonbury the weekend before and Oasis the night before. I’d have been happy for a standing ticket being around £170, but nearly £300 for a standing ticket is definitely what I won’t pay for a single day event

There is no comparison, the cost is just madness. So is that about £170 just for coach?, so about £85 each?, given what the said standing prices were.

We can call it a metal live aid but the reality is the strength of performers at Live Aid was huge in comparison to this. I'd have shifted a lot of money for Live Aid.

I have no idea why people would pay that much to see a drug addled old codger shuffle around stage. Is it just because it's his last show? If so, it seems more like a tick box exercise. I'll just not get tickets and tell people I was there. Best of both worlds!

I didnt realise Robbie Williams was on the card as well?

Same as if I buy a ticket from someone else and they make a profit, it is what it is.

You can choose to participate or not...

Personally, this is an almost unrepeatable moment, 50,000 lucky punters, one-time opportunity.

Glastonbury, 250,000 odd people and happens almost every year.

If someone offered me Glasto 2025 or Ozzy's final show, I'd choose the Ozzy show without hesitation.

It's easy to see how prices have ended up where they are.

What have AC/DC tickets just sold for, approaching £200 each? And that's just a fraction of what's on offer at Villa Park...

You're missing the point. People profiteering off resales like you are suggesting is exactly why the likes of Ticketmaster get away with sh*t like Viagogo & dynamic pricing. It's also why Glastonbury tickets are very stringent about resales.

Saying it is what it is makes you part of the problem.

except Glasto are letting resellers make money from ticket sales cause they let them use bot software to snag tickets and charge £100 a person at minimum to guarantee a slot.

It’s got a selection of big names which would rival any recent Download, so the price for a standing ticket isn’t surprising.
The only thing putting me off getting in the queue for tickets is the format, I don’t want to watch those bands playing 30 minute sets. I can’t imagine they would get any longer than that.

The extras is the coach plus TicketBastard's fees. Don't really want a coach as was planning to stay with a friend for the weekend but it was the only option left.

Worth dragging yourself to the cinema for the new Zep movie - I loved every minute of it....

I saw them at Download that year, was expecting the worst but absolutely fantastic.  Ozzy shuffled on stage and I honestly thought it was going to be tragic, but then his 40+ year autopilot kicked in and it was immense.

Obvs never saw them at their peak, but I'm pretty happy with what I got to this day.

i'd love to see the balance sheet for this show.

on the news when it was announced Sharon said "no one is getting paid"

i call bullshit on that.

the only reason they are doing this is because they have seen how these days they charge whatever they want, and people will pay it, and they have decided its their last chance to rake in that sweet sweet cash.

i love metal.

but i think that line up is sh*t.

paying those prices i think just sums up all that is wrong with live music in this day and age.

I’d guess from your comments that you are not a metal fan?

Any concert tickets that much is crazy but it’s a full day from midday to 11pm of the best metal bands around now plus some legends and black sabbaths last gig.

it’s a real “I was there moment” for metal fans and considering London shows are £180 for a decent seat in the west end ……. £250 to £350 for this even seems a bargain.

I was a metal fan, actually, but things moved on and nobody came to replace the old guard (which I assume is why people are still willing to pay this much to see Black Sabbath). Nah, I'm not contributing to their retirement fund.

I've only seen them the once, just checked and it was 1997 on the "Reunion Tour" 😁 but also 😬

yeah i remember seeing them round that sort of time too in a small venue - astoria, SBE, t&c??

cant remember now - the only reason i remember even going is because i used to work at Tower Records at the time and thats how i got tickets.

I saw them at 2012 Download when they reunited, Birmingham NIA I believe the year after and in the NEC I won a competition for tickets so cost me the competition entry fee. The free time was probably the most ropey.

It was at the NEC. I think it was the 2nd of 2 nights.
