Totally agree. We were there on the Friday night, was almost a religious experience. I hope she's able to capture some of that magic for the tour and festival appearances (Glasto especially). Like you said, new material is ace and can't wait for the album to arrive tomorrow.

Can you explain a bit more about the show? The reviews don’t give that much away..  I’ve always felt her live shows were kind of religious, such an outpouring of emotion.. I can’t really imagine what next level she’s taken it to.  (But the reviews are all amazing so I know she’s pulled something spectacular off).

She is great. I expect she will be at Glasto this year.

Remember seeing her in the BBC introducing tent in the boots advantage cards dress for the first album - brilliant stuff.

Saw her there as well as we'd got there early to see the act after (Ed The Dog, not heard from him in a while).

She absolutely blew me away, great voice, great tunes.  Was my discovery of the festival that year.

Where are we thinking she'll place? Although it seems most likely, half way down the Other seems a bit of a waste.

High up on the Park maybe?  Though IMO it would feel a better atmosphere in a tent like Woodsies.  More intimate maybe, would suit her songs better.  Played there in the afternoon a couple of years back.

Edit:  just seen the Woodsies poster so we know she's not there!

Basically was a high production, more theatrical version of her previous live shows. 10 person backing group, visual humour, choreography, outfit changes and great pop songs. Think David Byrne crossed with the Handmaid's Tale.

Yeah, this is what lead me to ask 😅. Agree it would've been good to see her in there again.

I'd definitely prefer to see her on the Park. Keeping my fingers crossed

An excellent synopsis. I've found it difficult to describe to people without sounding like a w*nker (or making it sound sh*t!)

The album is so good. I could do without If Not Now, bit twee, but the rest is wall to wall bangers.

Guest appearance in the NYC Downlow would be a nice treat too, but dunno if she's too mainstream for them.

Pretty sure someone said Anohi are the Park headliner Friday.

I’m wondering if she might get a slot on The Pyramid you know.

Interesting. I think she’d be brilliant Park headliner, but if she’s early doors on Pyramid that means she likely wont clash with anyone else I like and hopefully it gets her the exposure that she deserves, so every cloud.

Just looking at the arena date in Sheffield. Has the top tier not gone on sale yet? Thinking about getting tickets but might be a slow seller and get a bargain nearer the time.

Sod it. Half way through the album and heard enough to buy tickets. Got block 119 so should be a good view.

Aye, top tier not put on sale yet. TONS of tickets left all over the lower bowl and standing, hope it picks up as the year goes on!

    • Primavera refunding day tickets which are probably a negligible percentage of attendees yesterday.
    • Thursday day tickets being refunded. Fair play.
    • I’ve had a good sleep and I feel weirdly zen about the whole thing.   My first Primavera, so not the greatest first impression. I guess today couldn’t be any worse, right?   Thoroughly enjoyed Men I Trust and Geese. Cupra is a beautiful stage and the crowd seemed fun, friendly and engaged.   I think it probably could have gone even worse, considering how dangerous the crowding felt at times.   Anyway, we go again.
    • Brighton centre is a weird old venue for the Mary Wallopers - a great band, a really good live spectacle, and its a saturday night as well which sets it all up - but its at the bloody Centre? a charmless nonsense of a conference centre? Brighton dome is a ten min walk away and is so much nicer a place to see bands its ridiculous!    ah well, i'll probably mosy along anyways . . .
    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
