Struggling with reasons why she wouldn't pack it out on any basis.

The only thing that may prevent it is the questionable taste of a significant portion of the punters. If we base it on talent/fun/theatricals/class/party vibe (would even rival WH) then it should be full. Even I might be persuaded to suffer whatever shite they would inevitably put on before in order to get a good spot

I've genuinely forgotten who I last suggested, but Sam Fender / Lady Gaga / Oasis.

One out of three would be amazing for me. I’m currently on about 6 from nearly 30 Glastonbury’s

We're talking about Elton John sized crowds here. I think @incident makes a good point to be fair. To pack the field to site-emptying levels, i think you need an artist that's universally loved. If Swift doesn't meet that criteria then Gaga won't.

A Gaga crowd could be more than a bit dependent on what's on the other stages.  She'd get an absolutely solid crowd regardless of what else is on but she's big enough and, critically, interesting enough that there would be an awful lot of people who'd go see her if they had no must-sees on the other stages. Middling bookings on the other stages would see her pulling a ginormo-crowd I reckon.

That would describe me. And the Pyramid is rarely my first choice in this scenarios.

I know some of you have heard stuff but I'm not convinced Fontaines are a stadium act. I'm happy to be proven wrong, they're great. All power to them. But I can't see them doing a full stadium tour

I can guarantee you they are playing a stadium next summer, which shall not be named.

To just play one stadium would be... bizarre, to say the least, so I'd firmly expect them to be playing stadiums plural.

At the very least I'd expect it to be a series of big gigs that involves a stadium, and given they sold out 45k at Finsbury plus other big gigs with similar numbers last time out - I'm not sure where else they would be playing if it isn't stadiums; I suppose there may be a few parks, or similar, that could house more.

Fontaines are far fresher and more interesting than Oasis/Foos etc.

So if we (sadly) must have a “white men with guitars” then they would be my choice, although I wouldn’t be anywhere near

Think Harry Styles and Olivia Dean are the 2 most obvious choices going.  Add in the big guitar band then it’ll be fine

I think its still Raye even though she just did the sub slot. Harry, Raye and Fontaines seems perfectly fine if you somehow dont manage Oasis.

Are they doing arenas back end of this year or just outdoor next?

I imagine they'll do the typical Bellahouston Park, Boucher Playing Fields, Marlay Park alongside the stadiums. All of which are horrendous venues 🤣. BH Park might be the worst venue I've been to.

I think that’s the only thing holding her back as it was so recent.  But either her or Olivia Dean really won’t surprise me.

Raye could go down the European route, BST etc…

Gaga would, she doesn't have the criteria of lots of her tickets being bought by parents to attend with their children like Swift did for example.

Why would playing one stadium be bizarre?, plenty of acts just do one stadium on their tour. To be honest Foos as big as they are are only doing two and they are the biggests stadiums either.

I guess my point is that for it to be an isolated date would be weird, it certainly would to me anyway.

I'd definitely be expect it to be accompanied by a handful of other big stuff, be it stadiums or bigger outdoor spaces than last time.

So I'm led to believe, however, the date I was told about doesn't seem right (though I suspect it was just a case of wrong venue, rather than no tour)

So we think they are going to do arenas end this year after Reading, and multiple stadiums next year and Glastonbury?

Linkin Park just for example as well did one Wembley Stadium with us knowing full well they'd be back next year after not ticking RAR off as well with Nova Rock exclusivity but I think on that note with the likes of SOAD and MCR it isn't as clear clear. Isolated UK date yes but its wouldn't be weird to do one UK stadium date and others elsewhere in Europe, loads of acts do it.

I don't know. It's very much putting pieces together at the moment.

- Arena tour - that fella on Insta who gets everything right (from what I've seen) posted it. I did some digging, which then saw one arena date come my way. It's since transpired that the venue doesn't work for the specific date I was given - that either means the tour info is wrong, or the date or venue is wrong - inclined to go with the latter.

- Stadium - been told one specific venue. No date (just summer '27)

- Glastonbury - that's purely me making a prediction based on a number of factors. Slightly educated guesswork.

- I was told right at the end of Jan that they're 'due to start recording the album'. Dunno how long that process will take.

All I have right now. They're a band I'm mildly obsessed with so I'll always be fishing.

Yes BH park is awful imo. Seen quite a few there including the Foos.

I seen Green Day there, advertised all week it was a cashless venue then the shuttle bus was cash only. Was stuck in the pissing down rain about 5 miles from the city centre with no signal 🤣

If they can do the venues they did outdoor last year, plus Reading and Leeds this year at what, 150k?, even it is a co-headline slot, plus arenas at the end of the year another say 75 - 90k based on 5, plus stadiums being 60k+ more than once here and Glastonbury on top that it starts making them look like one of the world's biggest bands and obsessed or not they, they are not. I really cannot see it being more than one stadium with all that and Glastonbury. My mates a big fan of them, not you sized big fan but even he daid that's a stretch.

Yeah, who knows. There's always gonna be an element of bias when I talk anout them.

What I posted above is all I know at the moment. If/when I hear anything else - I'll share if I'm able to; though if a winter tour is afoot, you'd expect an announcement by Spring.

Least the gig went ahead this time. I still remember a friend who chose to fly up there to see Green Day in Glasgow in 2017 only for the rain to mean no gig.

Huh when I was looking into going over there, I asked on Reddit if Marlay Park was any good and the locals said it was. But I will say the problem I had and what ultimately turned me off going there is that it just looked so far out of the way of everything else in Dublin.

I will say it was for Green Day's last tour as Wembley had sold out, and I chose Manchester instead. Although I found getting out of Old Trafford cricket ground a ballache. I'm already dreading to think the scenario for the Royal Highland Centre - my brother and I want to come to Edinburgh for the comedy festival and found Florence & The Machine are there, so plan was to see her to make up for not seeing their arena tour earlier this month, but I've heard a lot of bad things about it as a venue.

No that's fair. Even with acts I really like I try to keep myself level headed of where they could play. Papa Roach with their tours people mentioning positions for example and some going into headliner discussion which for me is categorically not where they are, sub yes. For Florence for example, I know chase and status are probably just like the dance closer but I didn't see them playing anywhere but headliner and to be honest everywhere else in Europe that haven't got a similar deal of dance type after them they aren't.

I tend to try and stay quite neutral even if I really do like an act or have no time for them which also doesn't mean I hate them.
