I'm convinced Fred Again will do it.

Not based on any info, just can't see past it. Though I thought he would this year (he was, for a period of time, if rumours are to be believed)

He was offered it this year but turned it down.

Part of me thinks he’s taken this year off (until now) because his last album wasn’t exactly a smash.

There was talk of him being/feeling burnt out, so I think this year has been to recharge and think about the next steps.

I’ve been told there’s a huge outdoor gig in the pipeline for 2026 (in a place Oasis are rumoured to be doing several nights again).

So at a guess, new album late this year/early next, big tour next year, festival circuit 2027.

I was told Wembley Stadium was in the pipeline for this year, originally.

I imagine everything has been shifted out by a year to coincidence with a new record

I feel certain that the next six headliners are all mentioned in this thread

Speaking now for 2027

who I want:

Fontaines DC

Chappel Roan

Depeche Mode

who it will (probably) be:

Sam Fender

Taylor Swift

Lady Gaga

Capaldi has to be in the mix.

Was it not he was in then he pulled out an cancelled plans for everything  you're a year?

Oasis several nights again at Wembley next year?

Recon Fred is the prime candidate for next year.

I could see Fred, Oasis, said female acts with Fender being 2028 with Foos and said female act. Considering Fender is doing this year after the tour late year, a different festival next year or even just a gap before returning in 28 could make sense.

I think he'll sub, not headline, don't think that gamble will be taken.

Sam Fender / Chappell Roan / Fred Again

Swift in '28.

My far too early prediction Lewis Capaldi // Radiohead // Lady Gaga

If Oasis are still around and fancy it, then sub them in for Radiohead.

Lewis will sub 27 in my view. It's th much safer bet all round for him and the festival.

Oasis

Sam Fender

Chappell Roan

Makes a lot of sense in my head. Surely with Olivia being a big hit this year they will want to replicate it with Chappell

I'm starting to wonder if Fred, Oasis, Chappell fits the 27 bill better.

Fender, Swift or Gaga, Foos for 28.

What I thought was a good friend has just booked their wedding and it lands on the Saturday of Glasto '27. WTF!!!!! This is a proper friendship tester right?!

In fairness that might just be a joint decision from them. We can't decide when people choose to have their events.

😱 Indeed it is! Only fallow years are an acceptable date to get married on the last weekend in June! We did this ourselves in June 2006 to provide our friends with a party! 🎉🥳🎊

Another female name I’d add into the frame who could also be ‘available’ in 2027 with a new album by then is Ariana. On the back of ‘Wicked’, she’d probably draw quite a big crowd on the Pyramid.

I still think Fred is likely for 2027. Put those two alongside a classic rock band like Radiohead/The Cure/Blur/Oasis/Foo Fighters and you’d have a headliner lineup that would cater to most audiences.

All depends on when she finishes all the Wicked stuff but I’d love to see it myself, great catalogue of bangers!

Seeing Sabrina Carpenter and Ariana Grande seriously suggested as headliners for Glasto is sad. Neither deserve it.

Again nonsense. I’d be unlikely to be there, but either who do the job.

The days of over played legacy acts headlining is coming to an end and this is a good thing

    • Primavera refunding day tickets which are probably a negligible percentage of attendees yesterday.
    • Thursday day tickets being refunded. Fair play.
    • I’ve had a good sleep and I feel weirdly zen about the whole thing.   My first Primavera, so not the greatest first impression. I guess today couldn’t be any worse, right?   Thoroughly enjoyed Men I Trust and Geese. Cupra is a beautiful stage and the crowd seemed fun, friendly and engaged.   I think it probably could have gone even worse, considering how dangerous the crowding felt at times.   Anyway, we go again.
    • Brighton centre is a weird old venue for the Mary Wallopers - a great band, a really good live spectacle, and its a saturday night as well which sets it all up - but its at the bloody Centre? a charmless nonsense of a conference centre? Brighton dome is a ten min walk away and is so much nicer a place to see bands its ridiculous!    ah well, i'll probably mosy along anyways . . .
    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
