If we don't hear anything this week I'm afraid there won't be a Mad Cool edition next year.

I haven't seen any posts about Mad Cool; no post such as "See you in 2025" or confirmation about dates. I know they are bad for communication but we're almost mid-December. The only positive sign I found is the contest for Mad Cool talent. On their website, it was saying the winner (s) will be added to the 2025 Mad Cool line-up; but now I can't find this statement anymore. It seems the site for the contest was updated recently. It only says winner (s) will be added to an upcoming Mad Cool festival edition. It doesn't look good.

Sorry? Look at the date I posted this, and then see the context in the 2024 thread. Silly sausage.

They did put a see you in 2025 post on Instagram around September, not that I have much faith.

I think I will give it until Mid January then book Nos Alive, lineup looks half decent for my poor taste and be nice to try somewhere new.

Mad cool have been responding to DMs to people elsewhere. Quote from one person

'they will release all the information in one go, they don't tell me anything about dates. Then they ask what I have bets on the bands, to which I reply that I prefer the lineup to be more like Werchter than Nos, LP (which I'll give them just to let them know since they won't be coming), Green Day, Muse, Slipknot, Evanescence NIN, Rise Against... And they tell me that this year I'm sure I'm going to like it,'

Said that last year, Mad Cool's first announcement was December 19 and 2023's first line-up was on December 4.

So... we're in the ballpark where you'd have thought we'd hear something about this.

Well, not exactly, the first "See you" thing happened last year on December 3rd and the (first) lineup dropped the 11th of December.

Then the source I was used was incorrect and I needed to do the research slightly more thoroughly.

My research from the MC posts on Facebook found this:

Mad Cool 2024

Early December 2023: a few posts for future MCs such as "See you in 2025, See you in 2026”.

December 10, 2023: First post for the announcement of the line-up the next day.

Mad Cool 2023

November 22 to December 4, 2022: Clues leading to the line-up announcement.

December 5, 2022: first line-up announcement

Mad Cool 2022

June 16, 2011: First line-up announcement (date is not relevant as the early announcement is due of the return of festivals after Covid)

Mad Cool 2020

October 29, 2019: first confirmations for the line-up

October 24-28: Clues leading to the first announcement

It seems there is trend 🙂

If you ignore MC 2022, the first announcement is getting later every year.

Don‘t know if this is them fooling around.

Gotte be the announcement next week I guess? Wouldn‘t make sense to create hype that fades away again over christmas.

They've been known to do that tbf.

Linkin Park would only work if they have a July 13th date given they have a habit of not doing shows on back-to-back nights and they have a Paris show on the 11th.

Venue confirmed to be the same as last two years, just read an article confirming it. Didn't have any other info though, no dates etc.

Was it much of an improvement last year compared to 2023?

Last year was much improved because the capacity was lowered to 58.000 pax,  there were less stages and the baths issue was solved, so people could circulate more confortably

Transport was better cause of subway times expended, I guess

Not bad experience at all last year

1st time going to mad cool this year(went to see Pearl Jam) and despite the sound stage not being the best one and the probably the worst crowd i´ve ever seen at a concert (people were just speaking to each other during pearl jam unbelievable...) everything else was great and if the bands are good enough its one festival im consider going.

    • The Great Fete Festival (Sunday Only) Ocean Colour Scene day on Tickets For Good.
    • I was also at Ghost but seated. When they scanned my ticket's and they came up as seated they printed a small ticket with the seat number info.
    • I was standing for Ghost at O2 London last year where they put the phone in a pouch beforehand so I assume they're is a mechanism in place for people in seats.
    • Most likely not, keeping an eye on Tixel and Twickets might be the best option.
